The male didn't ask for the baby so i say, if the girl wants the baby then its down to her.

Just because the female carries the baby doenst mean the male carries the problem if he doesnt want it

    Let's be seriously honest here.

Thats why i mentioned advertising for young men to take responsibility themselves and not leave it to the woman to be protected from unwanted pregnancy.

    Hi Aphroditesgirdle,

I think now that the baby is here, then he has a responsibility to his child.

I do however think there should be serious advertisements for young men to waer protection at all times and not to rely on the woman to say she is protected because if they have a one night stand or in a relationship and not ready to father a child then they need to protect themselves because they have no fathers rights whatsoever in this country, apart from that the government, in the form of the csa will be after them to get their money.

What a load of crap of horse crap?

Since when is it the guys poblem? The guy said he doesnt want it but he girl has it anyway........... whos problem is it?

I wasn't dissing your suggestion! The HIV/AIDS advert was a while ago, there is a whole new generation that could benefit not only from the threat of HIV/AIDS but also about pregnancy and the effects.

Although an old article you might like to read this.

Whether it be a one night stand or a 10 year relationship if a child is created both parents have a responsibility.

The only guaranteed protection is to avoid the deed, however blokes are weak creatures and the deed is nice, so no matter how careful one can be or what one party says to the other , things can happen. On top of that there is no right time to start a family, I notice in the news today an 11yr old has given birth only last week a 71 yr old male had fathered twins.

I think as the mother of a child this is not just about does the man have a moral responsibility to pay towards the upkeep of a child they have created. Few people would disagree that this 'should' be a joint responsibility however life is not always so simple. If you think the father will play a part in the childs life then I think it may be worth pursuing financial support however if there is likely to be no contact in the future then having this remote involvement may be something in the future that you come to resent. I think you need to ask yourself why you would ask for help from this man and the potential future impications of this. Only you will know the answer.
