Question is, if you say "allow substitutes", can they replace them with anything they like? Even if it works out more expensive? For example, these buds were £16 for 30, if I'd allowed them to substitute it could they give me 30 Stella's even if they cost £20??
If the substitution costs more they price match it for you so you pay fpr what you originally ordered. For example I ordered a £4 bottle of wine and they substututed it with a £8 bottle of wine but price matched it so I paid £4.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. If they substitute any item with something of higher value, you only pay the original price of the items you ordrered.0 -

Same here, items were substituted with a higher priced item i.e ordered smart price beans, they substitued with asda beans but i paid the smart price beans price!
Just read that back. It was meant to clear it up for you so hope you get what i mean!!!:rotfl::T0 -
And if you do allow substitiutes and you don't want the item they have given you as a substitute you can give it back to the driver who will sort out a refund for the original item ordered.0

Had my shop delivered by tesco last night. The first time I saw the total price less the offers was when it was delivered - def do not like this! Not enough time to spot errors and give stuff back and a salad I put in (i knew it was a good price) was charged at double what I was quoted! I'll probably choke on it now!!!
Also on the substitutes note Asda are def better than tesco. I ordered two packs of solero lollies (low fat pud for me) and tesco substitued them with one three pack of tesco own brand magnums and a pack of tesco value milk lollies!!!!! The latter was to make up the price so they only had to give me back 20p! Two boxes of the magnum type would have been ok as same type but milk lollies are nothing like what I ordered!
I'll stick with Asda from now on unless theres a big money off incentive to shop at tesco again!:T0 -
Just taken delivery of weekly shop,i was told by the driver if i check my shopping list with other supermarkets and they work out cheaper than Asda they will refund the difference with e-vouchers towards your next shop.Worth it if you do a big shop.Sorry just seen a similar post.0

Having read through this thread I put a first ever order in with Tesco, thinking to pick up the £10 beer offers, chose the next day in case it ran out. Topped it up to the minimum spend as the Taylors' coffee I use was well priced. Ticked no subs.
Wait in (2 hour delivery slot I notice as opposed to Ocado's one) and the van pulls up with - neither! They have sub'd the beer with smaller, fewer, regular priced bottles.
The coffee offered is fewer packs & Lavazza (which is ok but not my preferred drink) but their "price match" ignores the current 2 for £4 offer on the Taylors. Van driver happy to return it all and suggests I ring to reclaim my delivery costs. It hadn't struck me they would charge even if they could not supply.
Phone them, bemused by why the #2 for groceries is answered as the wine dept, this happens a couple of times so try #9 for everything else and the guy admits they are actually groceries (same folks answer all the lines I guess)
Response first is "Didn't you buy anything else?" Just as well, one small item they did have & it would have cost me a fiver delivery.
Interesting experience. I think I will stick to my occasional shop with Ocado. Have found their stock indications to be accurate. As they supply from a centralised source you are not at the mercy of cleaned out shelves if there is an offer on.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Anyone had any problems this weekend?
Usually when I click 'checkout' it works out any discounts but it's not done that today, it says voucher savings zero and none of the offers I've added to my trolley seem to have been recognised.
Any ideas?Kavanne

We're currently developing a great money saving application for buying non-food essentials (toiletries, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, baby products, vitamins & supplements, stuff for nights out, holidaying products etc) and we're looking for any feedback we can get. This is our first business so we'd appreciate any help we can get.
We're wondering how you buy your non-food necessities - would you order them all online if they could be delivered in one box? Would it be better if you could order everything from lots of shops, getting the best price, and have it all delivered in the one box? Do you like buying all your stuff or would it be better to have an easy re-ordering system for the things you buy regularly?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated,
Thank you!0 -
