Most years i register with my local college, more recently just simply to get the discounts offered to students, tho I do find the courses I've done useful. The fee for my woodwork class last year more than covered the gym membership difference offered to students. and to boot I was able to replace a window transom myself for the cost of the raw materials.

  • How do you apply?

through the NUS extra website. as long as your college/uni is listed on there...

    www.nusextra.com
  • I go to a London Uni and it's not a member of the NUS (as most are members of ULU). Should i not be perfectly entitled with a valid proof of studentship (like my student swipe card) to claim student discounts without getting "NUS Card required" shoved in my face?
  • 20% off our entire product range at Coffee Culture at waterstones swansea on production of your NUS or Student ID Card
  • Thanks very much sarah saver i have now become a member of skint and i have even introduced my friends to it as well, thanks again.

Just thought I'd add that if you've got a Somerfield near you they give you 5% off yer groceries inc alcohol:beer: . You've got to show them your student card and they give you a somerfield discount card. 5% off all yer groceries throughout your student life is a pretty big saving.

    Happy shopping:T

Does any where else offer student discount on groceries?
  • Not strictly money saving tips, but students and graduates are likley to find pretty good job search and recruitment tips on http://www.wikijob.co.uk!

    Good luck!
