Pretty frustrating a(and embarrassing :-[) when you ask in shops etc and are refused!
Hi, the OUBSA card is issued through the Open Uni, although HMV take it as a student card, its mainly meant to get into student bars etc.
If you go online to the NUS website, or ring them ( get the number off website), you can get a proper student card costs £10, lasts to end December.
Im at the Open uni, when I rang the NUS they were absolutely brilliant.
God luck with the studies.:beer:xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
My tip, for those students on Orange, is to combine Orange Wednesdays 2-4-1 with Student Discounts - £2 cinema tickets! Brilliant!
I've successfuly done this in both CineWorld and Picturehouse Cinemas - I think both people have to have student cards - my girlfriend doesn't have an NUS card, just a normal student id card, so they're pretty accepting to most forms of identification.0 -
Cine world Cinemas: Take a friend to the Cinema and £1 off entry each! (Monday - Thursday).

A friend told me about this site: http://www.studentdiscounts.co.uk/
It doesn't cover London yet, so no use to me, but thought it might be helpful to others...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -

Couldn't find too many on the site to be honest.
Pizza Hut are a bit dodgy re: student discounts. I've been in a few that will accept the university student card okay. Then, others need an international card etc... I got one of those and then they said that they need a card with the Pizza Hut logo on the back.... I wasn't very impressed.0 -
I have just recently been to Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne and must say what a great idea the NUS and International Student card rolled into one are.
Most tourist attractions offered much larger than 10% discount to students with some up to 50% !!0 -

no NUS card has that on it anymore so they need to be updating their staff. the 05/06 academic year NUS card had the pizzahut logo on the back but the current 06/07 card doesn't.0
