    hi ,

    im still here,

smartie , if you had to wear a pad hun , i would go down and a&e im sure they would send you to epu for a scan , your doc sounds awful ,

Pokey - i had a sweep on tuesday and i didnt find it uncomfortable just like a smear with fingers instead of a instrument , it takes about 2- 4 minutes , not long at all, they put there fingers inside the cervix and sweep round the head to try help things along

I had the sweep tuesday , lots bleeding after , was told by lovely MW , see you this afternoon giving birth , and 2 days later , still sat here waiting for things to progress, any how i have MW again tomorrow for another sweep if nothing happens before then ( wishful thinking) , then i am being induced next thursday ( Only 4 days after edd due to big op i had at 15 weeks pregnant ),

Added newbies to edd list incl pokey as you werent on there

oh well i have tried everything for little man to come out ,

EA - thats the tens machine i have and it is really good , well recommended, the thing what looks like a probe is the booster thing , you press and hold it when contractions come and it gives constant buzzing , dont forget you wont need new pads if you buy direct from lloyds as they can be used over and over again , its just personal hygiene stuff , mine came with new pads i got it for £14 i think from ebay

    Me again.
I'm being pathetic and emotional now so you have been warned. Went back to sleep just now (well bed anyway!) and then my Midwife called to say that she can't come over now til Sunday (and only then if she isn't called away) and that she has booked my section for Wednesday coming rather than the sunday as previously discussed cause they are so busy.
I really didn't want another section and so was hoping that having a sweep tomorrow and then my section not for 9 days would give me a chance to have things happen "normally" but it looks like its just not going to happen and I'm going to have to just have another section with all the recovery etc. I just feel so hard done by and useless for not being able to deliver this baby normally (and I know I shouldn't feel like a failure for having a section but I do)

I don't know what to do

    its a booster button EA.

POKEY - call your MW and tell her how upset you are , but like i said a sweep may not help at all as i had mine 2 days ago and still nothing , If you explain to her im sure she will consdier something else , if not isnt there a higher MW lady at the hospital ( we have a senior MW on labour ward who we can call i think ) you can call to voice your upset , as at end of the day its your choice.

I am dreading being induced next thursday especially after one born every minute where the lady was in there for 4 days then decided to go home , but i have been induced twice before and it happened quite quickly , but knowing my luck so far with little man coming out he will not be quick if i go another week

gill_81uk - fairies have been , many many thanks for that x

Aw Pokey that's rubbish, but hopefully baby will make an apperance by itself before the sweep or c sec, x

Lol EA that TENS machine looks like something far naughtier than a tens machine!!

Smartie I didn't have any bleeding but I know lots of ladies do & have. If you're worried I'd tell the docs a white lie, or try and speak to a female doc who might be a bit more understanding?

Guinea I think the pineapple one's a bit of myth, though it's supposed to help induce labour "Pineapple is considered to be a labor-inducing food, however there is no research that supports this method beyond women's own stories."

    Congrats to newbies :j

Met SJ's Alfie this afternoon & he's more adorable & beautiful in real life than in his pics :D He's just lovely, I think I'm broody :rotfl:

Popped into Asda on my way back and bought some new towels as we needed some...had intended to try and get some muslins but forgot, doh. Did pick up a pack of baby wipes though :T Now gonna have a mooch on the internet for some cot bedding, SJs looked so cute, I want some :D

    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

Thanks Nikkit, when she called I told her I was disappointed cause that's not what we had discussed before and she said that all she could say was sorry but they are just really busy and there is nothing else she can do. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to complaing as well!
I know the sweep might not work but I just really wanted to give it a good try if that makes sense.

I guess all i have to do is get on my ball, eating curry and pineapple and get tweaking those nipples in the hope that something starts naturally!!

Gym - I thought that to, hehe :)

I called Lloyds Pharmacy to see if they have any there. But their telephone number doesn't work :(
I'll go and get one on Tuesday as i have my op that day and its on the way to hospital :)

Hmmm, OH wants a McD but he wont go out and buy it and bring it home lol. He keeps saying it will go cold, even though the bagsare designed to keep heat in.

I refuse to get out of my PJ's. Im far to comfy :D

A girl in my year from school has just had her baby and called her 'Lily' so im going to be like the 4th person to name my child Lily lol. I didn't think the name was that popular.

eta: The Nipple tweaking thing, i read somewhere that if you use a breast pump it does that same thing. Is that true does anyone know?
  • Hi All

Have been absent for a while but am back here now again.

bump is fine - getting big and have just gotten back from my anomaly scan (im 21 weeks today) and am delighted to report that we are expecting a baby girl.
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j all absolutely landed especially as we have a little boy Benjamin already so cant wait.

We have both agreed we like the name Holly.

Cant wait now though but am still trying to hold back form buying anything because I don't want the last few months to drag past - I would rather wait a bit first then start at about 24 weeks but I was wondering - WHEN DID EVERYONE START BUYING FOR THEIR BUMPS??

Hope your all having a good day

    Time to find me again
