    Morning,

SS really hope you're ok this morning hun, x

CAFC glad the move went well. I'm sure babys room will be all sorted in no time, looking forward to seeing pics :)

    Don't worry Maureen, I'm 37 weeks & still haven't packed a hospital bag

Sorry you had a rubbish sleep Xmas :( Your DD sounds like a star helping out with the house :D

Twinkles I hope you've gone back to bed!

Som glad you got your boiler problem sorted :) Can I ask, do they charge you for a new meter? Ours is horrendous, it's so old and cr*p and in a really awkward place in our kitchen cupboards, I want it replacing but don't want to pay! & yay for more clothes for baby girl :D

Gill that's rubbish about Asda, we use Tesco & have found them pretty decent, v quick to sort any problems & their replacements have always been quite good :)

BSM the monitor looks good :) Though not sure I'd get a video one personally, think I'd become obsessed :rotfl:

I feel like a new woman today, managed to have a fairly decent sleep :j:j Woohoo!

Hi all, sorry I've not kept up with the thread at all but things have actually been pretty busy here the last few weeks.

Just thought I'd update quickly. I'm 33 weeks today and had a growth scan yesterday. As expected bub is right on the top centiles for everything and weighs over 5lb already. The consultant was about to go into the 'this is going to be a huge baby' speech when I asked him to look back at the sizes of my other 2. After that he started to tell me about something called gestational diabetes, had to politely tell him I did the fasting glucose intolerance at 28 weeks and got the all clear. After that he went back over all my previous bloods, including my thyriod ones which have all been fine and insisted on checking me for 'unusual swelling' even though my blood pressure is fine.

After all that he finally agreed that there is nothing wrong and I probably just produce big babies, basically what I've told everyone from the off LOL.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate them looking into everything and understand a huge babe can be the sign of something wrong but I seems that I go through the same saga at every appointment. I seem to get a different consultant each time, none of whom have looked at my history and all of whom seem determined there MUST be something wrong with me. Thank goodness my midwife is sensible and matter of fact, think I'd be banging my head against a brick wall otherwise!

Anywho the scan showed bubba is head right down and totally healthy so I'm happy and still determined to get my home birth at this point.

Hope all mums and bumps are keeping well. x

Gym - We werent charged for ours as the regulator was broken and when the bloke looked at it he said its such an old meter I may as well replace the whole thing. We rent so never pay any charges its one of the few bonuses. I suppose all you can do is ask! Oh and get your bag packed young lady!

kelinik - yeay for 33 weeks, eek for big babies and constantly having to repeat your self!

yorkgal - I heard sinuses in general can be an issue in PG and as nose and ears etc are linked its probably something to do with that. I suffer really bad thru the night but most days are ok.

nene - try ebay if your after a tens I know both me and nikkit have had bargains from there :) My obi tens normally retails at £45 and I got it for £13.48 then just had to get new pads which were £4.

maureen - sounds like your getting there with the sorting and building etc, go you, but dont over do it :D

Xmas - oh no poor you with the sickness x

kindof - Im couch surfing too when not on the comp, have the hard drive plugged into the dvd player so lots of downloaded TV to watch. NCIS and Glee to fin up today then think Ill start on something new hehe.

Right clothes all sorted into ages just need to find space for them.

    Morning ladies

Thanks for the heads up about the baby events coming up. Think I'll sort my nappies out and see what I need in the way of newborn ones.

Kelinik - how big were your previous babies? I guess it's reassuring to know that baby will be a good weight if he/she comes early tho :)

I'm not going into work until 12.30 today as it's my stocktake. We have to do it out of hours and will usually be there till 8.30 so no way I could have been there since 9am! Going to be hard going as it is and it doesn't help that I had an awful nights sleep, felt as though I was awake all night but I'm sure I must've got some dosing in. I must have got up to wee at least 10 times! To make matters worse I've got a backache now aswell :( My naughty little bubs must have moved himself in the night and got into a bad position lol!

re the online shopping we did try tesco last time but I didn't like the way they didn't take the multibuy offers off until the shopping came so I didnt know how much it would be. I might go back to them though as at least there's a Tesco where I work so if there is anything wrong I can easily pop there for a refund, where Asda means a special journey. Will definitely give Sainsburys a go - hopefully there'll be some vouchers knocking about! Ocado looked a bit posh for us lol

Thanks for that Som, I might give British Gas a call & ask, it's such a pain in the bum where it is now and so incredibly retro, I want an outside one!

Kelinik glad all's well with baby :)

Yorky I find my ears feel really stuffy sometimes, have to hold my nose and push my breathe out (does that make any sense?!) to pop them so I can hear again! Keeps happening when I'm driving - v weird.

oooh & Som thanks for the heads up on the Sainsburys baby event, I guess I ought to buy some baby wipes, all I have are the two measly tester ones that came with the baby box from Pampers!!

Photos have just arrived that I ordered the other day for babies room, v pleased with the way they've turned out after my photo shop fiddling :) Gonna pop to Ikea tomorrow & get some more frames for them then we're sorted as far as his room goes I think.

Exciting news, I'm going to meet SJ's Alfie today :D I'm so excited!

I know exactly what you mean, I do that but then it blocks up again more or less straight away :(

  • Yes I get blocked ears too, just feels like you've been flying and however much I blow it doesn't clear :p

Just bought a monitor on ebay much cheaper than the newer version and am happy at £40 spent as because of our house layout and sprout being on different floor it'll hopefully save me running around and up and down the 3 floors all day - although that could be good for losing weight :T

Also got baby bath, top and tail (potty too), all white and very nice from freecycle. Hardly bought anything new as we're really being very very sensible.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm back to work next week, so will miss you guys. Going away with some girlsfriends this weekend - boy what a treat! Only Saturday and Sunday, but that sense of freedom you get when you sit on the train on your merry way - boy you could bottle it!

So those that don't have little ones yet, make the most of your free time now, you'll find it harder to switch off once the new arrival comes, or you just won't want to leave the little cherub!!! x

Morning ladies, been away with the kids for a few days R'n'R over half term - sat on the sofa and watched endless amounts of carp tv! including all the baby stuff on home and health! To the point where my 4yo DD sat on the reclining chair with her doll stuffed up her jumper and said 'i'm pretending to having a baby', when I pointed out the head is usually first out she told me hers would be breech!!! lol

    .
    LOL thats classic!!!

Yes but Gymfiend you are notoriously never ready lol (or so you say lol)

Kelnik you would think they would look at your past history and realise that yes you do have big babies lol

  • Hello ladies
    May I join you?
Had my scan today and they dated me 12+6 (should have been 11+6), so EDD is 27 August :)

Now should I phone the MW and ask here to move my 16 weeks app to early date, as i will be nearly 18 weeks by then??
