    320g plain flour
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    100g cheddar, grated
100g bacon lardons, cooked until just crispy and cooled
    200ml milk
    2 eggs
    1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
    60ml olive oil

Preheat oven to 180 degrees / gas mk 4.
lightly oil and line 5" x 9" loaf tin with parchment paper
Sift all dry ingredients into large bowl, add cheese and lardons and mix
Pour milk into large measuring jug, add eggs, mustard and olive oil and whisk to combine
Make a well in centre of dry ingredients and slowly pour in liquid, stirring all the time until it is all incorporated
Pour mixture into prepared tin and bake in oven for 50 minutes
Remove from tin and place directly on oven shelf for further 10 mins to crisp up the base
When cooked it will sound hollow when tapped on the base.

  • I had the test as my bmi is borderline 30.I had to drink original lucozade which we were told we had to bring in ourselves (my hospital is tight!lol)
But they did offer a cuppa and a biccie after the test was done-which I was grateful for 'cos I was starving by that point.:p

    Hello

    How's everyone doing?

CAFC yay for the house :j & double yay for baby's bedroom & getting your dog back :j I'm always desperate to get my cats back after holidays so I can only imagine how excited you are (unless you're not as sad as me :rotfl:)

Agutka, the drink tastes ok, I can't remember it brilliantly well but I don't remember it tasting bad anyway :o re: extra scan @ 32 weeks, no idea but it'll be nice to get one :D

Kindof your BMI is now right, not before? There's no way from pics your BMI was 34.6 pre Elliot! Duh, just re-read and you already said it was! I've not been weighed since booking in either, though having bathroom scales right by the loo means I check all too often :o

On monitor talk, I was talking to SJ about this the other day - we've got a retro one that was given to us that we'll use and some promised as a gift, that I'm trying to politely ask them not to get us, think our retro ones will be fine :D

Som your cookies have me wanting biscuits now, wish we had some in, or that I was any good at baking!! Sounds like you had a lovely evening at your friends play :D

Ahem :o, we're talking bmi past 35 . But only just :A

The consultant (which I had to see because of the bmi) said at the time of booking that my baby might be too large, so they have to have a look. But I only weighed 5lbs more than during previous pregnancy, when I was 'normal' apparently, so can't share in their panic. After all Joseph came out two weeks late and only 8lb1, so not exactly giant. Having seen my scrawny son, the consultant had the cheek to ask if it was the same father :mad::rotfl:.

I don't think I like lucozade, roll on monday morning... bleurgh.

cheeky consultant! I can't remember what mine was at booking - it was about 35 though (edit: just checked my notes - 35.6 ick) so we must be fairly similar! (only said 30+ because that's the trigger for increased risk of thrombosis et al so thought maybe the scan worked on the same guidelines).

Funny though, my midwife isn't at all worried weight wise, they apparently don't worry too much up here unless you're BMI 40+. Haven't had any consultant care either, though my practice does shared care between GP and midwives (maybe the reason for them not bothering too much?). Only thing that was mentioned in relation to my weight was that I might take longer to feel the baby move because of the extra...em...padding! They were wrong though, felt him/her at 19+2.
