I have to admit, my daughter loves nursery. While I'm on maternity leave, I was going to take her out of nursery entirely, but thanks to that funding, I'm going to take her still for two mornings a week. This way I'll only have to pay for her lunch and she'll still get to play with the other children. The grant money has really helped make that possible.

Don't be silly i don't want anything i only paid about £2.70 for it on ebay
But it was like brand new and i'm sure you'll want to clean it anyway cos i've got pets, although the cat would be extinct if i ever caught her sniffing any of Amber's stuff :rotfl: I'll let you know when.
As for your worries, they're totally normal. I remember when DS was newborn and if i ever nipped into the shop without him i'd have a moment of panic that i'd left him somewhere. And now with Amber i've got this fear that i've left her in the car park in her car seat and i've driven off so i'm always checking she's there lmao. I only ever put the seat on the floor while i prised my way into the frozen car over new year.
I also thought a bouncer seat was a waste of time and only got it cos i sniped it cheap on ebay, but i love it now because it means i can put her down without lying her flat in the moses basket which she's not a fan of unless she's asleep, whilei see to DS or make dinner.0 -
It freaked me out too cafcgirl 'cos I like to have control and I get overwhelmed. When my dd was about 3 wks old I was on the phone to my mum demanding to know why there wasn't an official book on baby/child rearing as I just wanted to do it 'correctly'.She told me to ditch all the books with the conflicting messages and advice and to go with the flow. She's always been super chilled compared to me.She said that every child is different and you just have to learn as you go.Eek!But it does get easier as they grow and you gain confidence. So long as you remember there is no such thing as a perfect mummy and you will make mistakes (don't beat yourself up,like I used to)your be fine x:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010

im not that concerned about being a perfect magazine mummy LOL I just like to know what i can expect, which is just not gonna happen....
Beanie - as for pets, we're gonna have our dog back by then anyway, so it wont bother me
BTW how did you go about getting your dog ready for Amber?
Our dog is just 15 months old, and he was my replacement baby after we lost our first, and as he got older ive tried to be more pack leader, and treat him like a dog but he's obv had all the attention, doggy or otherwise for so long.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
CAFC - The wonderful thing about babies it that it's all new to them too! They don't have preconceived ideas about what kind of mum you'll be. You'll do things wrong, we all do, but it won't really matter. And the fact that you're worried about it, just means that you'll be a great mum, because it'll matter to you.

It looks like you can get a pack of 6 tommeetippee bottles for £5 in asda event so going to leave them until I can get to asda.
Anyone who's done an asda event before, do you know when the excess stuff gets reduced after the event finishes? ie the event finishes 6th sep so will the sale start the day after on the sun or is it best to wait till the monday?Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Ive just calculated that I have 4 wks 6 days left and will be 'full term' in 1 wk 6days!!!:eek::eek:
I have yet to pick up the buggy from my friends house and I need to arrange to pick up the car seat from the friend I'm borrowing it from.I haven't packed my hospital bag and seem to have been completely unaware that time is running out till now!ha ha,sob sob.
The bouncer I was borrowing off another friend (we all borrow off each other!)broke yest so I went onto ebay and 'won' a pink one that I love as it looks super comfy, lies flat and has carry handles too.Feeling a bit guilty though as I've spent 24.00 pounds on it (incl postage).Whereas In a local charity shop was exactly the same one that broke for 7.00 pounds.Kp telling myself it's not the end of the world thou as the only things we have new is a changing mat and some room stickers, plus 2 p[ackets of newborn sleepsuits.Everything else we either had or have borrowed.Or have got off ebay.So I have no reason to feel guilty for my not quite sensible purchase?:p

you're allowed to spend something hun......and i think its good to have something that you bought for baby, that you can keep if you want to etc...
We have a couple of bits we bought during my first pregnancy that I think I'll make sure I keep, as momentos..Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
To be honest 'cos I know this will be the last baby due to my ill health and finances I'm torn between being as frugal as poss or splashing out and enjoying myself as this will be the last time for us.
I have told hubby that I wd like a new buggy when babs is a bit older, nothing fancy just something different.I love the cath kidston red and white polka dot buggy!
Cafcgirl I think that's a lovely thing to do.I have a wooden memory box that my hubby engraved with a message, for things special x:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010
