But do i still count as working 30 hours, or will it be 0 hours?
And yes to SMP.
Might have to go to CAB and ask them about it all. Its difficult as i'll be going to college after mat leave finishes, and i dont think students get it
EA you are still classed as working, as you will be getting maternity pay wont you ?,if your partner is working you can not claim income support you can claim JSA if you are looking for work ,but if you are pg , and partner works non of you are seeking work,
i agree with kindof you have to be on jsa / is/ or disabilty allowance to be able to claim the grants
I work 17.5 hours a week ( well did off sick atm ) , i will be on ML for 9 months but still getting paid , my OH does not work he is not allowed to claim anythin, as i work over 16 hours , you can earn upto £16 a week to be able to claim inciome support , then anything over £16 is deducted from the Income support payment.
i couldnt claim any of the sure start or other grants , even though i only work 17.5 hours a week , its stupid we are on alow income but still cant claim nothing ,
well OH could claim JSA if he wanted to but he looks after the other children so not really seeking work and it wouldnt benefit us as our rent is very high and any other money coming in over my wages goes towards the rent payment and our rent benefit is lowered IYSWIM.Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0 -
Hi,
I am 12 weeks Pregnent now and thinking to buy Pregnacare multi vitamin tablets and use till the delviery, that is due in June 2010.
I have just applied for MSE and when I bought Pregnacare first set of tablets in Boots yesterday, pharmacy guy told me that I need to have presciption in case i need the benifit / relcaim.
He also mentioned that, without any presciption, i am not eligible for any free medicines on MSE...is that true?0 -

PP - is that right? surely you dont get it if you are entiteld to wtc cos that mweans you are working?
Well according to their website its not
Who is eligible?
You can get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if you or your partner receive any of the following:
Income Support
income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element
Working Tax Credit where a disability or severe disability element is included in the award
She definatly said she had got it thoughI know they sent the form back to her the first time and said that tax credits had no record of her claim and she had to ring up tax credits and they had to call them to get them to confirm it
Maybe its if tax credits are under a certain amount
ETA i just asked her she was awarded hers because she claims CTC even though she claims WTC aswell0 -
your MW will give you the form to get the exemption card , pregnacare is not usually on prescription , you have to buy it , but tesco do exactly the same , on 3 for 2 and half the price ,Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0

Its all so confusing lol. I know we can get wtc and ctc when she is born and maybe help with our rent to
I have to call my manager back now and im nervous. He sounded really pee'ed off when i called earlier about my maternity leave. As if i was ruining his day by asking if it has been processed.
ETA: I just called him and he's still to busy to talk to me. I feel like crying. I dont think its going to get sorted at all0 -

it seems like you are only entitled to it if you are receiving ctc at a higher rate than the basic family element even if you are receiving wtc tooits all very confusing
Your manager sounds like a !!!! :mad:0 -

thats a lovely bump som - i wish mine was like that:D sometimes people dont realise i am pregnant - they just think i am really fat:eek:
I think I'm never going to get an actual bump; there's enough room already!
The constant sickness has subsided though, I'm not sure if this coincided with an increase of green vegetables... I thought I should make a bit more effort to be healthy! We won't dwell on the chinese left-overs I've just had for breakfast/lunch.0
