EA if they refuse you for the grant before you have baby make sure you apply again when baby born and your circs have changed. Lots of people have done that and got it 2nd time round

nmluser - try eBay for Pregnacare. If you buy in bulk, it's cheaper than the shops. No it's not free, but if you're only after the folic acid buying plain folic acid tablets is wayyyy cheaper than Pregnacare/similar.

Your 1st appt with the GP or MW will give you your mat exemption cert which gives you free prescriptions & dental care 'til baby is 1 yr old. Send off the form in the post and they will send you a plastic card you show to the chemist.
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

it seems like you are only entitled to it if you are receiving ctc at a higher rate than the basic family element even if you are receiving wtc too :confused: its all very confusing

Your manager sounds like a !!!!

He is! He never has time for anyone, yet when i've kind of snuck up on him, he is just playing games or having email convos with people.

    kindof
its a bit complicated it depends on wether te baby is still free or engaged - you can go on all fours and let your belly hang forward if you need to move a baby off your pelvis (oblique) (or any position in fact) to ceph greatly relieving the pressure and pain caused by baby's lie if stuck on your pelvis like mine was. or creating the room for a back to back baby to turn around. my baby went from obliguue back to back to transverse then ceph - i stil do all fours but resting on a gymball so my pelvis is open and baby is being encouraged to engage initially and now i am carrying on now it is 1/5 engaged.

its far more complicated than this and i am rubbish at explaining you can look at www.spinningbabies.com for more info aless linked to a while back which i am still looking at. i also practice birthing positions which must all be good for baby positioning:p HTH

    HUGE LABOUR VIBES BEENIE

I am unemployed (housewife) my husband works 40 hrs a week and earns around 13k per year after tax he gets wtc and i got hpig - nothing else. HTH

    Thank you :)

Right, my manager is going to walk over to HR and then call me back. He said he would anyway.

If not im going there tomorrow to have a moan lol

Eta: No there isn't. There isn't even a customers services number! Its a call centre so they dont have anything likr that. And employee's usually aren't allowed in the HR dept unless they are with a manager.

Oh JHA, thank you! Am now welling up (more bloomin leakage:rotfl::rotfl:!)

To be fair, I had such an easy time until the last few weeks I don't think overall I'm doing too badly. Scan today showed still got plenty of water, going back on Monday for more blood tests and monitoring. I will have had 8 appts at the MW/ hospital and a 2 day stay this month, so I'm definitaley now getting my moneys worth from the NHS!
    Boots: £107.xx on AC :j
    Tesco CC: £48.00/ £192 in deals:p

  • The best thing to do in relation to the surestart grant is to just apply after the baby is born even if you dont think you will get it. They can only say no.

I didn't think I would get it with my first as my husband worked full time (I was a student but he earnt around £14000 a year and we weren't getting any other benefits) and we got it. It goes on your annual income not how many hours you work.

OMG! All HR have is a letter from me saying i want to start ML in October that i wrote in March! I said "No, thats from my previous pregnancy that i miscarried, i assumed they knew that.."

And my manager said he's going to call me back.

So somethings wrong, they are denying something i know that..i heard them :p lol.

Eta: Woohoo! They found my MatB1 form but not my letter, so have asked me to email a new letter over saying i want to start ML 20th December and state the date i am due back.
So i copied and pasted my orignal letter into an email :D
