  • EA- I'm not 100% on the freebirth yet as this is my first. But I will definately mention in my birthplan that I wouldn't like any intervention unless absolutely needed.
I`m also feeling quite strongly about a natural 3rd stage and letting the cord stop pulsing before its clamped etc because of the red blood cell boost for the baby. I have found a lot of resistance to the idea though weirdly.
Am I that unusual? Anyone else have any ideas about how they want their third stage?

Yay Boo :j Tobys a lovely name and so glad your home now enjoying mummy cuddles :D (I know just what you mean about being attached to people you've never met too)

I wrote a big post out before and stupid pooter lost it

Tightenings are now every 8 mins ish lasting about a minute so think Ive still got some way to go, had 2 paracetomol earlier as starting to get more painful and just had another RLT. Hopefully I wont be back on now until Ive had belly monkey, going to watch a film now with OH to keep me occupied. And thanks for all the messages ladies, your all lovely :A

Oh, nearly forgot! At the scan today babies estimated weight was 8lb 2oz so will be interesting to see what weight she is if she does come tonight! And apparently she's got long legs too :D
    Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j

Just had a bath, was interesting to watch my belly jumping around lol

Fishcake - in my birth plan notes/ideas I wrote that I want to be left alone as much as poss until it comes to giving birth.
I'd rather it was just me and OH mostly as I feel that it's kind of 'our thing' if that makes sense? Plus due to mw shortage it should be fairly easy to let me get on with it :):)

Boogelly-good luck! I hope tonight is the night :)

Haha the cat gets jealous if me or OH do anything so he lays across our arms to stop us, he tried just a second ago but failed mwahaha lol

FR - the MWs in my area are quite pro natural 3rd stage and encourage women to consider waiting til the cord stops pulsating to cut (unless medical reasons deem otherwise). I realise this varies depending on the MWs in your area, but is encouraging that some groups are very positive towards natural birth techniques.

Fattybooboo - so pleased your home already with Toby, big congrats on a quick birth xx

EA - how sad are we getting excited about a Sainsburys 1/2 price toiletries sale hehe. Oh and I love having baths and watching bubs tho I mainly see twitches.

Boogelly - hope your holding LO in your arms right now xxx if not easy labour vibes for you xxx

Well looks like I wont be going into work again today, have a bit of an upset tummy and had an awful nights sleep! I'm not terribly ill so hopefully OH wont object to still going to Aqua tonight, just work is quiet atm and nothing worse than standing about all day when your not feelin great. *minor rant warning* and how sad is this I found out one of the women at work was moaning about me yesterday saying I'm only pg not really ill! so apparently while pg your not allowed to be ill! a) she should shut the !!!! up and learn not to gob off infront of my friends and b) who cares what she thinks this is my pg not hers :P

    Morning all,

Congrats again Fattybooboo, lovely name :) You must be tough, paracetemol & gas and air alone

Boo hope belly monkey is enjoying cuddles with her mummy now :D But if not, lots of lovely easy labour vibes for you, xx

No news from GISI yet? Hope all's going well :D

Not seen Three around for a few days? If you're lurking, hope you're ok hun & this week's been as ok as possible, xx

Som don't worry about work, especially whinging co workers, unfortunately life's full of people who like to have a go for no good reason! You & baby are what's important and if that means you take time off when you don't feel 100% then that's the right thing to do :o

Kindof mega jealous of your 4d scan, seems to have rolled around really quickly!

FR wow that's a massive gap between appointments, think I last saw midwife at 16 weeks and am seeing her next week at 25, remember thinking at the time that it was ages though...and it's flown round!

EA well done on starting the nursery :D Exciting isn't it?

Must admit you all make me feel really unprepared :o I've no idea what i want birth wise, though I'd like a waterbirth...but can't know whether it's possible til I see the midwife next week and we make a decision on which hospital I use. Is it really weird that i can't really see giving birth as a reality that needs considering yet?

On happy baby news, I bought him some Levi's yesterday! He'll be dressed just like his daddy in his jeans & polo shirts :D Also picked up the playmat that Albionsarah so kindly got sent up to my local Argos for me, it's lovely :)
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

Boogelly, hope you're holding your bubs by now as well - or at least well on your way! :)

Aww Som feel better soon hon.

Congrats on your last day of work, lou!!! :)

I've had the worst heartburn of my whole pregnancy this morning, ughhhhh.

  • Wow its quiet on here this morning where is everyone

Hospital yesterday went well bump started doing somersaults whilst on the CTG :D Everything on the scan was fine, though i really wasnt happy with the sonographer, i wasnt even in the room for more than 5minutes, and in that time she apparently managed to do all the measurements and decided that im not carrying extra fluid and despite 2 scans previous to that saying i was she branded them 'stupid' and 'dont know what they are talking about' consequently the midwife on the ward decided that i must never have been carrying extra fluid as it cant increase and decrease
Was only when i said that i wasnt happy about it as i couldnt see how deepest pool could go from 7.9 down to 3.4 unless me waters had gone that she agreed to keep the appointments with the consultant and for the scan next week

Anymore problems between now and then i have to go back, its getting quite bad now i know most of the midwives on first name terms as they do me :rotfl: i am sick of the bloody place though!

redstar hope you find it hun what a nightmare :(

Fishcake your appointments definatly dont sound right, i know i have had a lot more appointments than most but yours definatly dont seem enough, there is actually a list in the back of my notes that lists when you should have what done round here, my notes are upstairs at the mo when i go up il grab them and type it up for you :)

boogelly sending huge labour vibes to you and hoping you are having mummy cuddles by now :)

booboo huge congrats to you!!! the post from your hubby brought a tear to my eye too!!! Lovely name also :) xx

Som hope you feel better soon, and sod what anyone else says!!!

Hope GISI is ok too has nobody heard anything from her yet?

Labour vibes to all those that want them!!! xxx

Is it weird to be that unprepared at 36+5?:D

I have no birth preferences, purely because i don't feel strongly about waterbirths etc, probably cos my 1st was so quick.

I think about the labour a lot, but i still can't quite believe it's so soon til i have to do it  Some of you 2010 ladies are far more prepared than me, i'm still thinking about decorating :rotfl::rotfl: (well i've started it which is even worse cos now i gotta finish it )

Really need to get myself sorted, all the baby stuff i have is in carrier bags shoved in a cupboard and i can't really sort it til i've decorated my room.
Need to look through it all and see what i've got cos i don't think i've got many clothes...
