yes it is right , 16 weeks then 25 weeks , then (28 weeks if u rhs neg blood group), then 34 weeks then 36 , 38 40 and 42 well thats what its like in MK HTH

And red it was years ago they used to see you every 4 weeks but these days they only see you a little , mine was 12 years ago , and they are classing this pg as 1 st baby and i was shocked so ask MW why so much between seeing me and she just said above .

And i got a doppler from ebay at 12 weeks and is greta , still is now 26 + 4 , you know you can resell it when you have finished with it usually the same what you paid for it , so its not a waste of money
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

For those on NRT has anyone tried the new niquitin minis? what did you think of them? - i picked up some today and they are amazing and much better than the big lozenges:D they are nearly double the price but well worth it.

and i love my rlt:D i have to make sure i limit myself to one cup:eek: by drinking other fruit teas instead:A
  • Hey all,
Thanks for the replys, I have just read my notes and its written in there that I am to make an appointment for 34 weeks. Barring an emergancy etc.
Guess I`m on me own then lol.
Another question for you all do you think I should start taking iron tablets? Don`t think I`m anemic but is it one of those prevention is better than cure type affairs?

I took iron during early preg of my own choice but then when they did my blood tests i had reading of (booking bloods) 14 and then 12 (at 28 weeks) so i stopped.

I have a carp memory fishcake - did you refuse the blood tests or did they just not offer them:confused: I refused some of them but had blood group, iron & rubella tests.
  • I refused all my blood tests so far on the grounds that I am not ill or sick and that I want to avoid as much medical interferance as possible. It doesn't half annoy some of the medical people though lol.
Apparently to much iron can be as dangerous according to google as to little. I'm confused, might phone midwife and ask.
I`ve actually been researching freebirth online lately and an having a serious think about trying it. However this is my first so maybe a birthing centre would be better untill I know what its like and judge for future ones IYSWIM.

Yay for you fishcake - sorry about my bad memory. i refused some tests on those grounds but i am glad i did the blood group being rh-ve. But yay for having the pregnancy / level of intervention you want:T
I originally wanted a homebirth etc but am stuck on consultant led unit with epi and possible csect now so well done you as although i am personally eternally grateful for the care i recieve - i do find it a bit stressful. I havent heard about freebirth - i am off to google it
  • JHA - don't worry about your memory I am completely with you. I peed twice on 2 minutes earlier because I was going out and forgot I'd just been!!!

My midwife did say I may need to have a finger !!!!! test to find out my blood type later and I fully agree with doing that bit because its pretty wise to know my bloodtype in case of emergency.
If at any point there was a sign that baby needs extra care etc then I am 100% willing to do anything for her.

Freebirth is unassisted birthing at home, say with just you and your partner etc. No medical intervention, so pretty much DIY. H2H.

Yeh of course you would - we all would whatever level of intervention we are having.

When i first came on the thread i noticed there were a few ladies having home births with minimal intervention
and lots of discussions about attachment parenting, baby led weaning and elimination communication. but i have never heard of freebirth so thanks

    Hello ladies,

I havent had chance to catch up yet as its been a long day. Has there been any news on Gisi or Charliedavis yet?

Ive spent today being checked over at the day asesssment unit, everythings ok now and Ive been given a sweep which seems to have kicked things off. I was already measuring 3cm's which I was surprised about and the trace machine picked up tightenings which I hadnt been feeling. Seems to have picked up a bit now and are definately getting more painful and frequent.

The sweep was no more painful than a smear, just a slightly uncomfortable feeling. Ive bled on and off since but my waters still havent gone but hopefully we're moving in the right direction.

Hugs and vibes to all in need x x
