I never bothered with bootee's for DD as she was a June baby, then we had a fairly mild winter so she either had tights on/ baby gro on or socks (we had asda ones and they were brilliant at staying on, all the others were useless)

If you have been bought them as a pressie though I would probably change them for a bigger size and then at least bub's will get a bit more wear out of them.

thank you all for your thoughts im feeling better this afternoon dh done some housework for me its surprising how much you want to do it when you cant
dh also booked me a 4d scan :j:j:j:j its this thursday afternoon im so excited its a bit of a family affair im taking dh,dd,ds and my sis lol, dh said you cant take everyone but i am we are paying so i dont care:p
now i get to find out what flavour we are

on the bootie subject i hate them they never fit tidy, i love old fashion leather boots or shoes its personal prefrence again

jolene goodluck next week i would rather a planned c/s than an emergency one

kitkat if its still free thats great and i would put it straight in the machine
  • With DD she was born in the hottest May and in fact summer for ages (2006) so we just stuck to socks - then again it was so hot she was only ever really in a nappy and bodysuits (short or sleeveless and legs uncovered) and possibly socks. If we were going out she'd just have a cotton dress or something really light on as it was too hot - she was always so sweaty too. It's never been as hot since though.

It really depends on the weather this year - they say it's going to be another scorcher...might be nice as it is world cup year again. It also depends on ow bothered you are in dressing them up. Just socks always did fine for DD, but she did have a couple of cute booties too just incase we were going somewhere nice.

This time i have bought a cute 'I love mummy' pair (first purchase as i was itching to buy something...anything, lol) and a teenie tiny pair of Vans, but that is more for cute factor than practicality - they are a mini pair of Daddys ones thats the only reason i bought em :D But thats all for baby this time shoe wise.

Hey there! Have you got your bags packed? I have, think I have everything, but we only live 5 mins from the hospital so hubby can always bring me extra if i need it. Got to to hospital on monday at 2pm for blood tests etc, then up there the next morning I think. Do you know what sort of time you are having yours? Where abouts do you live, I live up in Scotland.

I've always bought booties but end up shoving them in a draw after a couple of wears as mine always kicked them off and it was a pain keep putting them back on. If its really cold then they got socks under their baby grows otherwise it was just a babygrow or if in an outfit it was just socks :-)

Xmas; my dinner breaks are actually paid! But the funny thing is I am paid for a 1 hour break, in the 3 years I have worked here I have only once taken a full hour, there used to be 2 other ladies in the office who used to leave the office at 12 and return 1pm sharp for their breaks, this never got questioned, then they resigned and ever since my break has been changed to 30minute (dont know why I loose the other 30 minutes!) and both these women havent been replaced, I just do both their jobs, and mine!

Kitkat, this is WRONG. You are legally entitled to take breaks and Health and Safety law says you need to move from your desk (do you use computers as you must take breaks if you do).
Call ACAS who will offer you some advice. He's not on, this boss of yours!

    Hi All

I can't remember what has happened to everyone but all the appropriate wishes and vibes!

I'm really tired tonight after work and being up late last night. DH is grumpy with me as I went to pick something up from a freecycler and therefore have somehow messed up his tv viewing... think he's tired too tbh. He did have a go at me for getting too much baby !!!! as he calls it, he may have a point, as today I picked up a travel cot that to be honest i wonder if we really need. i'll have a think and put it on netmums freebies if we don't need it. Left in the car for now so as not to clutter up the flat. Maybe I need to have a break from getting stuff (at least when he's around!) for a while, until we've moved the rooms around and know what we're doing.

    sorry, naval gazing over!!

Thanks for the feedback on booties - I can't see that I'll need many pairs initially as all my sleepsuits have feet and then it should be getting warm by the time he's coming into little outfits.

Rach - don't be too hasty to get rid of the travel cot as you might find it useful to use as a playpen when bubs is a bit bigger
