think it was dreambirdie who first mentioned funny stomach pains. ive been getting the same since before my 12 week scan, dont know exactly when they first started now 21 weeks and still get the pains though not as often. have mentioned it to midwives a couple of times and they say its just ligaments stretching etc. even though really hard to describe they knew what i meant! one told me as long as no blood or diarhea(?) no need to worry. another ones said some people describe it as bad period pains but i never got period pains so not sure but didnt really sound right to me anyway as mine were more sharpish.:j0

Morning ladies
I'm feeling a bit more organised now. We fitted the car seat yesterday and tried out the baby monitor and bouncing chair.
I have got all my newborn baby whites ie sleepsuits, sheets, vests in ther washing machine so that the essentials are done incase he comes early. Just weighing up whether its going to stay dry enough to get them on the line!
I had a crazy amount of energy last night (after having a really slow start to the day) and was up until nearly 2am tidying and sorting!
I'm going for a lunch in a bit with 3 girls I went to uni with and haven't seen since I was about 16 wks....they're in for a bit of a shock lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Hi all, hope you're all well and enjoyed Easter.
Does anyone mind me having a bit of a whinge, don't need any replies just to vent I think. Think I'm going to have to be induced. As some of you are probably aware I have very big babies and there has been concern all the way through over how big this one is going to be. I've had extra scans/tests etc throughout but as all has been well I have been down for a homebirth from the start (hate hospitals!) and just prayed he'd come sooner rather than later like my first baby did.
Except of course he hasn't. No amount of power walks, scrubbing floors or *ahem* has done anything other than make me very uncomfortable and now I'm 39+5. Had a midwifes appointment this morning and she has booked me for an appointment at the hospital tomorrow. Will be having another scan/check up/probable internal and then will 'discuss my options'. This is the bit that has unsettled me. My midwife is lovely and has been very supportive all through about my ability to birth bubba naturally and stay at home but today she was all about being 'receptive' to the staff tomorrow and she's actually there tomorrow anyway and wants me to go up and see her on the labour ward after my appointment so she can chat to me and show me around. My blood pressue and bubs heartrate and everything is fine but when she had a measure and feel this morning she didn't say anything. I commented that I felt he'd had a growth spurt due to how much more uncomfortable I've got over the last couple of days and she didn't say anything. Its not like her and its frightened me. I've been fully prepared to expect another 10lb er but what if he's really, really big?
Like I said I really hate hospitals, just being in one sends my blood pressure up, hence the planned home birth which everyone agreed was a good idea. With my last bub I left it as late as possible before I went in, was only there an hour before she arrived! I know how inductions go and the thought of all the hanging around and then being there right from the first twinge terrifies me. I was confident about coping at home but I'm really not if I'm induced and whilst I know I don't have to agree to it bubba is of course growing steadily bigger everyday.
Having a bad wobble, sorry about the epic post!:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
Bought some of those 'bump cover' things from Mothercare at the weekend, they are good! I managed to wear my work trousers without a belt (they fall down if I dont wear one!) and I just put the bump cover over the top of my trousers and to cover my bump. I found the metal part on my belts were digging in, and now thankfully its not, my bump feels nice, warm and supported! I barely have a bump but it seems to make what I have look bigger, think people at work think I have eaten too many easter eggs!:EasterBun0

Hugs Kelinik - sending some really quick labour vibes so hopefully baby will arrive beforehand! Don't really know what to suggest, but hopefully if you tell the midwife about your worries, she'll take them into account.

Hi girls I am in need of a little advice or reassurrance. Is anyone pregnant with their 2nd? And is anyone pregnant after a section?
I am 22 weeks and have started to get pains where my scar is. Baby kicks quite hard there, so it is more painful when baby kicks. I have also had a cold for the last 2 weeks so am aware that coughing constantly could be a contribution... I'm not sure if it could be part stomach muscles that are hurting... or if its inside where my scar is and it will be raw?
Its hard to explain... but its not unbearable.. though can keep me awake and make me reach for the paracetamol. Should0 -
Should I be worried? (sorry silly laptop decided to publish before I was done lol) x0

(((hugs)))) to Kelinik, hope things work out the way you want them.
Hope you feel better soon 1more.
Had my 16 week mw appointment and heard bubs heartbeat :j:j. The mw seemed really nice, although did feel a little like I was on a conveybelt!! Got my exemption form and was filling it in the car, good job as realised needed my NHS number which I don't know where it is so had to go back to surgery. Whilst was in the car some stupid man started having a go at me for parking on his street (as was tight for him to park!), felt like saying why do you live on a busy street near a doctors - doh!
Also decided to work from home for rest of day as by time get in will be lunch etc and will get more done without distractions of office.
My priority seat card came today so I can officially get a seat, although have a feeling being London people will just ignore me.
Enjoy your day and the sunshine

Hi mumof1 - this is my second, and I had a section with my first, although that was 4 and a half years ago now. I do find that baby tends to kick in my lower belly quite a bit, and I would imagine that a cough would make things worse, but I wasn't really aware of the pain directly where my scar is. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about, but I would definitely mention it to the midwife just in case - it would be better to have it checked out.
