Rach.. I found getting the bigger stuff ASAP.. or rather.. as and when I found a bargain made sense.. I was then aware how much room it would take up etc.. next purchase is bedding here.. thinking of forcing my mother to take me car booting lol.. I did fleetingly consider suggesting to her we do a car boot to get space for the baby stuff and also fund my spending! God help us if this is pink.. I am unable to refuse pink and frillies lol. We just have so much stuff which is unworn/unplayed with/unwanted!! And so much duplicate stuff from OH moving in.

Rach; I would get all you can especially if its FREE!!! I have no luck at all with my local freecycle, nothing baby related posted at all, actually there havent been any new posts in weeks! My OH is getting ratty about my baby stuff catalogues all over the place, but i just tell him i want to get organised with what items i wana look for at boot sales, he even had a hissy fit at the weekend when we were tidying the 'nursery' as now he has to find places for all his stuff that used to be dumped in the room, he made a big speech about how this baby is causing him hardship as he is having to put his playstation band game away! I just said to him, I have had 4 months of sickness, constipation, heartburn, reflux, had to have 3 bra measurements, got swollen ankles, bad headaches, im going to get big, be covered in stretch marks and have to get this baby outa me! He soon shut up then!!

I think I am addicted to buying baby clothes, theres been so many offers on lately, my bubs is guna be so well kitted out for its first year of life :D

Keep the travel cot Rach they are a godsend when little one starts crawling around you can pop them in it for a short while and get some stuff done knowing they are safe with their toys and playpens cost a bomb :-)

Ive just checked my bank and i have a really strange Balance showing there is a £1 difference between the balance and whats available to spend this only normally happens when i have used my card but i deffinately know i have not used my card for a £1 transaction i will have to keep an eye on it hopefully someone hasnt got hold of my card details and is testing the waters so to speak before they clear the account grrrrr i hate banking bring back cash i say !!!

Hello, hope everyone's ok tonight. Assorted hugs and vibes to those who need 'em.

Started tidying the spare room because it's full of various motorbike parts, random paperwork and Christmas decorations - all of which can be quite happily shoved in the loft once it's properly boxed. Sorted bubs worldly goods into a storage box so I have a better idea of what it has. So far I've got 9 sleepsuits in 0-3 (fab ebay bargain 99p!) and 9 in 6-9 months (Adams was closing down and that was the size they had) 7 reusable nappies and 2 disposable from freebie bags, 3 muslins, and a changing mat that was free with a mag. Got a week off, so think I'm going to get my Boots bag and Sainsbury's pack too whilst I'm in organising mood.

I've also succumbed to the dreaded granny panties, which MW recommended last time I saw her for my sore tummy. Haven't tried them yet, but at the very least they'll make OH laugh.

  • xmas - £1 earmark can be when you use your card at a pay at pump petrol facility or anything that authorises your card before the system knows what payment to take, or you could be right re testing for fraud - keep an eye on it, the banks are normally well covered for fraud, make sure your bank has up to date contact details in case their fraud system picks up something, the sooner they can contact you to confirm transaction the sooner fraud can be stopped

rach - re travel cot, with my ds we had a normal cot, and couldn't figure out why he always slept for longer at his nannies house ( she had travel cot ) spoke to my sil who has 3 kids and she said wriggly babies sometimes jam themselves against the cot and wake themselves up whereas the travel cot has soft sides so they sleep better ( needless to say I got rid of the cot and got myself a travel cot for his full time sleeping, worked a treat ) also playpen idea is a possibility and free is free

kitkat I would have a word with your boss, (ask him would he like you to shove a brush up your a55 and do the floor while your doing everything else !!!!) lunch breaks are a legal requirement as others have said, also an occupational health doctor told me pregnant ladies should have a 5 minute rest break AT LEAST every hour, don't take on too much or you'll end up a stressed mess like me

    Take care everyone

Little sis i'm going to check again first thing in the morning if its not showing up what it is i am going to the cash point and drawing some money out then i will transfer all monies left in there into my savings account just to be safe. I havent used my card for a while and everything i can remember using it for has already been taken out of my account which is why its so worrying.

Ooh i never thought of doing that with my travel cot bubs has started turning himself round in his cot and very often wakes up crying because he has got stuck sideways. Did you buy a proper matress for yours and if so roughly how much was it ??

  • No, it had quite a good quality padded mattress and I lined it with a blanket. I wouldn't have even made the connection except my sil said one of her girls was the exact same, also some prefer being closer to the floor apparently so the travel cot has lots of uses

Hey there! Have you got your bags packed? I have, think I have everything, but we only live 5 mins from the hospital so hubby can always bring me extra if i need it. Got to to hospital on monday at 2pm for blood tests etc, then up there the next morning I think. Do you know what sort of time you are having yours? Where abouts do you live, I live up in Scotland.

Hi Jolene, I have packed mine now, but I keep trying to remember if I packed various things and then adding them 'just to be on the safe side'! My bag weighs a ton, I think I'm going to re-pack it tomorrow....
I'm going to the hospital this Thursday for the pre-op - don't really know what to expect from that, and then I have to go in at 8am on the 13th....they've told me that they don't know times yet, as it depends on whether they get any emergencies etc, but that as I'm a morning appointment baby should be here by about 1pm at the latest - eek, really doesn't seem long now....
I'm right at the other end of the country to you - down in deepest, darkest Somerset :D

My bag was huge as well, so i have split it between two small trolley suitcases, one for me and one for baby, then a small bag to put in last mintue stuff.

I am near the top end of scotland, over the highlands near inverness.

We haven't been told what time to be there on tuesday yet, prob will be told on monday.

I am getting rather scared now! Even though I have been through major surgery before, just not awake like next week!
