HUGE stay put vibes for baby Mermaid!!

We picked up the pram today and it seems awesome :j. It's a proper 'don't mess with me' kind of vehicle (Bertini), perfect cos we're in a really touristy town that gets sooo busy in summer when bubs is due. Didn't get a proper chance to play with it though because OH put it in the spare room, but he loves it too as it's not remotely girly. It's big, black and fierce looking and only cost £100 - the lady we bought it of had it shipped from USA and it cost her £800  which is an insane amount. She's only had it 5 months, but is getting rid cos they're having another baby. Haha, I'm so sad, but I really love it.

    Hi ladies,

Hope everyone's doing well. I'm poorly just for a change, just a cold but it's making me feel lousy :( I've also been in real pain for the last few days, got a bit scared last night. I think, from reading up, it's 'just' my ligaments etc stretching but my back's been sore, my lower belly and has felt almost like someone's twanging elastic bands on my bits  Anyone else had this? I can't believe how many new things I've experienced this time round compared to DS.

Went for a walk earlier, totally exhausted me  I really hope it's just that I'm under the weather. 8 days until my 20 week scan, will ignore the fact I'll be 21+5 by then :rotfl:

Easter hols now, I really want to start sorting the baby's room out. Very exciting! :D

    Hope everyone's well

I had some issues with my ebay purchases - the jeans I got are labelled as a size 12 but I swear they're bigger than my size 14 jeans! I know you need space for the bump but surely that's what the elastic is for, and even the legs in these are too big for a 12. Anyway, after getting somewhat disillusioned I splurged in new look yesterday and am now very happy! I did try on some of their jeans but at the moment they gape at the back (I expect that changes when the bump grows?) so instead I bought some bump bands and am currently sat with one over my old jeans, it's great!

How many weeks are you? I was thinking about having a look on Ebay for my first pregnancy jeans as don't want to splurge out too much yet until I know I need them. All my normal jeans are now too tight- its so uncomfortable! Went out for meal this afternoon and as soon as I came back, I was straight in my leggings. Wish I could live in them!

Cafc you will find bubs movements will change around about now it will be less like they are kicking the carp out of you and more like they are stretching and rolling around and with that comes the BH which slowly get stronger until your ready to pop :-)

Well my day has been rather nice i have been chauffered about all day and got to lounge around in the sun whilst the kids exhausted themselves. I am deffinately getting bigger and i can now feel bubs presense when i move and i am getting deffinate kicks now i think the fluttering stage just passed me by :-) x

Red Rose - I'm 17 + 3 today. I have a small bump and have some clothes I don't fit into and others that are getting tight but my bump isn't really big so I can't wear all maternity clothes. I love leggings!! I bought 2 maternity pairs yesterday but I think I'll get a lot of use out of them. My bump band that I tried on today was good and works with my old jeans but I wouldn't wear them all day or if I was very active (I kept having to adjust myself when hanging out the washing!) - but then those jeans were always on the tight side. I did buy a lot yesterday (by my standards - I rarely buy new clothes with anything other than christmas or birthday money!) but I've reasoned that it makes me feel good about myself and I deserve it!!
You could get some long tops/dresses to go with your leggings (like I did!) that will look lovely for going out or casual but will still be comfy.

CAFC - I didn't get an egg either - I'm going to see if there's a reduced lindt bunny in tesco tomorrow!

Rach - OH's mum gave us our first baby gift for easter - 3 white sleepsuits. Such a lovely thought, the only thing is that when I checked the labels they're size tiny baby - up to 6lb. I doubt it was intentional!

1more - sounds good you get the pleasure of a shopping trip, without the pain of spending. Plus you won't have a house full of baby stuff afterwards, you get to give it back to your sis.:)

Xmas, sounds like a lovely day. Weather here's been pants, so it must've been good for your kids (and you) to have sunshine. Wouldn't have been fun stuck indoors with a house full.

For those asking about mat clothes - I really struggled with maternity jeans. I got a couple of pairs of below the bump which just keep falling down and the over the bump were always really baggy. I have been living in maternity leggings and long tops (not maternity, just a size bigger than I'd normally wear) and they have done me really well up until the last few weeks. I'm 36 weeks now and have found my long tops getting a bit tight the last few weeks so am back in my mat jeans with shorter mat tops My friend gave me a pair of over the bump mothercare jeans which are the comfiest things in the world and I can now wear one pair of the under bump ones with a bump band and they're not too bad.

I bought quite a few things that were a bit baggy and I thought I would 'grow into' but it never really happened. Bump bands were my definite best buy tho!

P.S I have got LOADS of chocolate :)

I didn't get an Easter eggs either and have NO chocolate in the house at all which means I'm just going to have to go to bed. Hopefully, we'll go and get double lots tomorrow :p
I did get treated to a full cooked breakfast this morning and a massive smoothie, then we had a nice long walk by the canal and went to watch KickAss (very funny!)
Hope everyone is well and am sending "stay put" vibes to those who need them.

  • Courgette - the elastic band twanging is common with me over the last few weeks especially if I get up to fast or twist and turn, I have a sizeable bump ( 2nd baby ) and find it can be a bit sore when I walk too far/fast so I got a bump support ( bit like a bump band only more elastic + supportive ) I find it helps
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
