    Morning girls

Now 14 weeks 3 days, sitting at work feeling ick, but I do have more energy.

Some girl at work has just even me an explore and play book with beautiful old fashioned toys in it...oooo tempting.

I am still emotional, hubby is worried about finances so working all hours until 2am some mornings (taxi driver) so hardly seeing him, and he isn't even bothering to text or call me so passing ships in the night. When I did see him last night he started picking on things I had and hadn't done and I couldn't even argue back, nope just floods of tears.

All red eyed this morning not that any of the guys here have noticed.

What are peoples plans for the weekend?

    Clare xx

Sounds like it is personal choice SB if the hospital are doing all the normal antinatal care for you. It could be good to have someone you can get hold of if your worried about anything i dont know what your hospital is like but i know with mine if i wanted a quick chat about something it could be really difficult to get to see or speak to anyone :-)

Betty.. I'd carry on as you are.. IF they are checking BP, urine and doing usual bloods at hospital it is pointless seeing someone else as well.

(((HUGS))) Clare sounds like you need them. I wouldnt worry about being emotional or hubby being picky from the sounds of it you are both majorly stressed. Hope you start feeling better soon.

This weekend i have my DD's and DS's birthdays so i have my hands full. Dudley is all but closed on saturday due to some stupid protest march which they recon is going to turn into a riot because of the extremists and general hooligans who are planning on turning up. I really cant get my head around the mentality of some people!

oooh, clareemily sounds like you need a hug. Have you/dh sat down and looked at your finances? My Dh was really worried about it and moaning about having to compromise our lifestyle it (like we do loads anyway lol) but when he sat down and worked out how it would really be and how much mat pay etc is, then he realised although we will have to tighten our belts it is doable. I think it also made him realise how much money we wasted on things like Starbucks, so have now cut all that down a lot.

My DH was also grumpy last night as I bought chips for myself for tea, just fancied them and was starving...he had some other leftovers.

I think they have a lot to deal with too and if your dh is like mine he doesn't communicate things properly then gets mad as i've not picked up on things!

Our plans for the weekend are to relax mainly - tomorrow is a lazy day, sat we are going to visit DH's bro & sil in Canterbury, sun will be church for me and then lunch at dh's parents. Monday is another quiet day but we're going to the opera in the evening, which is a nice treat. Will have a meal out first with tesco vouchers!

Rach - I think you've done the right thing today, sounds like you really need the day off and hopefully a rest of the weekend will do you a world of good ready for next week.

MGEB - I would also be grateful if you'd post your list. I started doing my bag a few weeks back but because I knew I was finishing work I didnt bother doing too much I left it and I need something to get me motivated again! I feel like I have loads of time but have a feeling it's going to creep up on me!

Xmaslolly - that is fab news re the unexpected bonus. Couldn't have come at a better time for you!

confuzzled - I think it's quite normal for symptoms to tail off a bit...you'll prob find they come back with a vengeance soon! I had brown spotting at 5 weeks and then again at 8 but my doctor and midwife thought it would be a good idea to terrify me and told me to go straight to a & e for a scan if it happened again. I went at 8 weeks after second lot of spotting and saw my little wriggly bean with his beating heart - one of the most amazing experiences of my life!! If you are getting worried would def advice going to put your mind at rest. As long as it stays brown and you have no pain then it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Do you have a date for your 12 week scan yet?

My brown spotting lasted for a full week at 5 weeks and I had to wear pantyliners, altho it was mainly when I wiped. At 8 weeks was just the one day and then stopped after the scan lol

Betty - I'd agree with the others that it might be as well to carry on as you are, aslong as you are happy with the care you are being given. MY community midwives haven't been great, seen a different one each time and apart from the last two who were fab, some of the others were so 'not bothered' I was in tears on the way home. (esp with the one who wouldn't let me listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks!)

I have no car again - it cut out on DH at Halford when he went to buy a jump started! It's gone straight back to the honda dealership. Bit annoying that I have to walk to the hairdressers now, it's only a mile but I don't want my nice hair to get wet and frizzy on the way back! Ah well at least I get some exercise!!

Just hope it's fixed for tomorrow as I have my leaving do from work and I;ve arranged to give a few lifts.

Thanks everyone. I think you're right - I'm seeing the hospital staff so often that there's no real point in getting someone else involved too.
  • Wow, busy morning on here, lol - nice to see you are all about though! x :D

Gillby1 - sure, it's long and obviously alot of what i want rather than what you ladies might want - you don't need too much more for c-section, just kind of more of everything ;) Here goes, it's broken into 3 lists even though i have everything but the baby list stuff in a mini suitcase:

    Labour:
    - Big knickers (3 pairs, you need something to hold the huge pads they give you, and you'll prob soak a few if waters go)
    - Nighty x 2 ( one to change into as soon as i get there, one incase i soak it like last time, lol) Bought mine for just £3.50 each in Primark.
    - Dressing gown - pref dark colour too, you get shivery at times in labour. Primark £8.
    - long or fluffy warm socks - mine are knee length as i get really cold on G&A
    - Slippers
-Birth plan (i don't have one, lol) & notes
    - Hairband & Mini Hairbrush
    - Flannel for OH to keep me cool at times
    - V-Pillow (just me being picky, hosp pillows are carp),
    - Birth/Gym ball & pump (again not needed but i want mine incase the hosp ones are in use when i want it, :D
    - Ipod and mini speaker (plus added my natal hypnotherapy cd on ;) )
    - Camera & charger or spare batteries. Also chargers for phone and ipod ;)
    - Small hot water bottle
    - Tens machine (not in the bag but ready on top as soon for as contractions start)
    - Snacks (mine are dried fruit and fox's boiled sweets as your not supposed to properly eat if going in for c-section) also frozen drinks.
    - Glasses and case
    - Massage oil
    - Lipbalm
    - Spare top for Hubby
    - One set of clothes for baby (you'll need this seperate and ready to give them before if c-section ;) ) Inc. one bodysuit, one sleepsuit, mitts, hat and one nappy.
    - Magazines for me and OH (as i'll prob not let him dare leae the room) and playing cards for the boring non-eventful moments ;)

    After:
    - 2 maternity/nursing bras
    - 2 pairs of socks
    - 3 knickers
    - One more nighty and one set pj's (i hate nighties so as soon as they take the catheter out and i'm up and walking i'll be straight in these instead)
    - Bag of toletries, inc: flannel/shower gel/moisturiser/toothbrush/toothpaste/batiste dry shampoo :D (my must have item) /deoderant/face wipes.
    - Towel, again pref dark.
    - Normal wipes for freshening up.
    - Breast pads (loads for me as last time i leaked like crazy whenever ANY baby cried)
    - Maternity towels (12 pack, plus i have another at home if i need so hubbie can bring in. Hops towels are HUGE and uncomfy)
    - A little make up for those visitors/photos (yes i'm vain, lol)
    - Carrier bag for dirty clothes
    - Hand gel
    - Dettol wipes (a must for me as toilets in mat ward sometimes had blood on surfaces :( )
    - Moist toilet tissue (as even though i had c-section, she crowned last time so i was still v.sore down there.)
    - Clothes for going home (joggers and a top, very simple)
    - Money for TV card, incase i have a quiet baby or spend up to 5 days in like last time.
    - Money and cab number to get home. (Hubby'll forget things like this in the excitement, lol)

    Baby bag:
    - Car seat (incase babys born naturally - ot would be too tough for OH to get home and back as we live so far from hosp ;) so for most just keep this in car ready)
    - 3 sets of clothes: Sleepsuits/bodysuits/spare mitts and spare hat.
    - Shawl
    - Jacket for going home (not bothering with going home outfit as never used with daught - she was smaller than expected ;) )
    - Nappies x 10
    - Cotton wool balls (for nappy changes and washing)
    - Travel size squirty bottle with a little Simple baby wash
    - Flanel
    - Baby brush (DD had masses of hair)
    - 1 muslin square
    - Travel change mat
    - Small tupperware dish (ideal for collecting water for nappy changes/washes)

So as you can see it's alot - i have also gone through with hubbie where stuff is incase i need him to bring any extras. A list for hubby is in the hall detailing everything he must do once labour starts, lol - like feed dogs, let them out/in, get phones, who to call to pick up DD, ect.:D

ALL of my toiletries are minitures from Superdrug - just as i figured running around last min adding the ones in the bathroom will result in me deffo forgetting something or other. Depends how organised you are - i'm not, lol - i'll just panic if i can't find something. :rotfl:

Also i have packed DD a small bag of stuff ready incase we need to quickly palm her off on the nursery/my sis-in-law.

One other thing was i packed 2 diff sizes of baby clothes in too - DD was born at 6lbs8 but was tiny in actual size, the newborn stuff drowned her, so this time i have tiny baby clothes in there too ;)

Sorry it's so long but i hope it helps a bit! x
