Yikes My-gorgeous-ellie-belle! big stay put vibes coming your way.

Does anyone have any experience of using ten machine for pain relief in pregnancy not labour?

Went to see duty doc yesterday as spd was really painful and previous doc (3 weeks ago) had said he could give me co-codamal if I felt I needed it, at the time I didn't feel I needed it.

This doc wouldn't give me co-codamal as he said it could harm baby and that he's not sure it is spd and it is a back problem instead. (i have some pain in back, but it is worse in my hip and under my bump) He then said to call midwife to borrow a tens machine for pain relief until hired one arrives.

I called midwife today who said I wasn't to use tens machine as it could bring on premature labour, and recommended I got an appointment with first doc or called the physio.

I then had an answer phone message from doc surgery asking me to call them back, nothing to worry about just need me to clarify something. But by then the surgery was closed.

Now I feel quite confused and frustrated. Has anyone else been told to use/not use tens for pain relief in pregnancy?

it is advised that you dont use tens machine before 37 weeks as it can bring on labour , its in all instructions , i would double check with your MW

    congrats on all births ,
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Thanks. Yes i am now 13+5 so hoping it will get better soon! I think it has almost been worse since I had a week off on hols at home and had a lot of chill time! It's great to think I now have 5 days until I have to face the train!

Slightly worried I am buying everything too early, but may as well make the most of bargains as they come up! Only prob is dh hates paying cash for things as likes to use credit cards and pay them off, but this lady is also offering 2 sleeping bags for £6 so is only under £20 total.

    Morning ladies

    Hope you are all well.

Labour vibes for those that want them and stay put vibes for those that need them :-)

Well i am having a fabulous day today after a really crappy one yesterday. Not only have i been paid early because of the bank holiday but my lovely work has given me a surprise bonus so i am £400 up yay. It couldnt have come at a better time to be honest there are two things i really must get a new bed for me as mine is ready to collapse and a set of bunk beds for my DS1's room ready for when bubs goes in there. I have been worried sick about how i was going to afford them but my prayers have been answered :-)

    Morning everyone.

Hope you get a better nights sleep mgeb. I hate travelling too Rach and despite having a baby on board badge I think people just ignore it rather than offer a seat. I am waiting for my priority seat card so I can kick people out of their seats!! Not sure what train company you travel on but most of them have special schemes, like a priority card or you can sit in 1st if there are no seats left in standard so may be worth checking.

Hope you can get to work at home next week, thankfully my work have said I can work at home all next week.

Oooh, MGEB i'd really appreciate it if you could post your list. I've packed my hospital bag, but only based it on a normal delivery, and since it's looking more and more like i'll be having a c-section i may need a rethink. Ta! Hope you do manage to get some rest, and that the baby behaves! x

Rach - am glad you didn't go in to the office - don't forget how hard your body is having to work to grow your little bean into a big baby! Now you have a nice long break to look forward to, and hopefully even a little sun.

Congratulations to all the new mums/dads and babies!:T

Had my 38 week appointment yesterday, everything is fine with baby and me, in fact since about 30 weeks I have been measuring big but yesterday i was measuring bang on 38 weeks!

Can't believe that was my last appointment with the midwife with me being preggers, next time I see her I will have a baby with me!

11 DAYS TO GO!:eek::eek:Oh my god! I am starting to panic now!

Rach get plenty of rest chick its flaming hard work growing a baby and you dont want to be crackered when the bean finally arrives

Aww Jolene is the excitement setting in yet. Although i am frightened to death of c sections it must be lovely to know exactly when little one is going to arrive. I do think we should all have oven timers installed and when it goes ping baby pops out lol :-)

I do southeastern to Lewisham then DLR (x2 or 3 depending on which train I get on). I have contacted the DLR (i have some contacts there through work :)) to say that people don't give up their seats despite the badge and that if they had the priority seat signs which include preg women rather than the 'please give this seat up for disabled people' ones it would help. They are rolling the new ones out apparently.DH has said I just have to shame people and ask for a seat, it's hard though as i've seen people refuse in the past. I will look into the priority seat card but I don't think dlr do one as the lady didn't say (she is pg too so understands!) but southeastern might. I am assuming you're on southern with the massive priority seat signs?!

Wow a few babes who didn't wanna be an Aprils fools eh?:p Congrats to all the new mummies and their babies:D

MGEB plenty of stay put vibes to you:) hope your DD gets better soon too, poor little doll :(

Xmas Yay for early pay and double Yay for that bit extra:j:j:j Must be a huge relief:D

Quick q for those who can remember early pg...I'm approx 9/10 weeks now and 'symptoms' seem to be tapering off, I still have ridiculously sore nips but other than that and not fancying food it seems to have gone! Logically i reckon everything is fine but then there's that irrational side saying yeah but what if....???:o Basically I'm after reassurance off someone, so if someone would be so kind as to tell me I'm normal I'll be very grateful:D Oh I've also been having brown spotting on and off since about 7wks but I'm not worried as mw said it can happen and I don't have any pain so not too concerned about that:)

    TIA ladies xxxx
