Wow lots of babies :T:T:T HUGE congratulations to you all!!!!! x
Welcome to the newbies too!x
Just thought i'd let you all know what happened with me today as it's been bit of a dramatic day. Went to day unit as per midwifes advice...Midwife at day unit told me off a little as i had the 'pink loss' on friday or sat and was only now going in - did explain i was trying to get hold of my local midwife so she let me off. Eplained all my niggles so she put me on monitor and to my horror and hers the bloomin contractions started - every few minutes lasting about 45secs a time...and painful, felt like someone was tugging my cervix!
So rushed over to labour ward - here had that magic speculum test (to check if labour is iminent or hardly likely for next two weeks. Ouch that hurt too as they do it with no lubricant
It came back positive:(:( which means there is every chance baby boy could come any day (doctor reckons V.SOON - but i don't).......argghhhhh knew i wasn't imagining it all though! So they wanted to keep me in, lol - NO WAY!!!!! I told them imediately there isn;t a chance i'm staying there if i'm not having this baby tonight. Had a bit of a row with Dr, trying to explain that i have no one to look after DD, and hubbie NEEDS to work or we'll fall further behind in bills. Told her i'll come in as soon as i know i'm in labour
She finally agreed and brought me the form for self discharge
I know some of you will tell me off but i had to do it - i couln't bare to be stuck there for ages again knowing full well bubs is not on his way just yet
:D
I have cab fare sitting ready on the side if i need to go in thoughand i have to go back in tomorrow for second steroid injection for bubs lungs
DD is sick anyway and desperately needs a Dr's appointment so it was tomorrow or tuesday which is too far away...so i had good reason to come back home.
So i might be queue jumping at some point :eek::eek::(
I hope you are all well though! xMummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

MGEB - What a day! Don't blame you for not staying in given the circumstances! Have you tried Surestart to see if they can offer any help at all in looking after your little girl? Is there, perhaps, someone you could get to stay over night in your house, just to keep an eye on her so that your OH can work if you have to go in? (I'm sure you've thought of these things, just wanted to attempt to offer some help?)

Yikes My-gorgeous-ellie-belle! big stay put vibes coming your way.
Does anyone have any experience of using ten machine for pain relief in pregnancy not labour?
Went to see duty doc yesterday as spd was really painful and previous doc (3 weeks ago) had said he could give me co-codamal if I felt I needed it, at the time I didn't feel I needed it.
This doc wouldn't give me co-codamal as he said it could harm baby and that he's not sure it is spd and it is a back problem instead. (i have some pain in back, but it is worse in my hip and under my bump) He then said to call midwife to borrow a tens machine for pain relief until hired one arrives.
I called midwife today who said I wasn't to use tens machine as it could bring on premature labour, and recommended I got an appointment with first doc or called the physio.
I then had an answer phone message from doc surgery asking me to call them back, nothing to worry about just need me to clarify something. But by then the surgery was closed.
Now I feel quite confused and frustrated. Has anyone else been told to use/not use tens for pain relief in pregnancy?Back on the MFW Wagon!

Thanks ladies - Please keep the stay put vibes coming, i'm soooo not ready yetPhysically and practically - yes! Mentally - NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Well i have someone (and a back up) who'll drive the 60miles from London to pick her up if i do go into labour but both will most likely have to take the following day off of work too so i don't want to rely on them as it'd be unfair to ask them to take unpaid leave without it actually being the fact bubs is coming. So really unless it is labour i really want to stay home, but if it IS real labour hubby will deffo be with me and come home from work as then there'll be perfectly good reason and he can't get penalised at work (loads of people are getting made redundant at mo) or won't lose pay. He just can't afford to do it everytime they keep me in 'just in case' which so far has always proven counter-productive, it's unpaid but also his work are getting a bit peeved!
I wish i knew some people better here as i'd ask one of them to have her - like her friends mum's or something. But truth is as we have only moved here just under a year ago i haven't really got close with anyone
We have considered either if i go into labour in the morn/midday she'll go into nursery and my SIL or MIL can pick her up straight from there. Or she'll come hosp with us and then be picked up asap.
I have to go in as soon as labour starts, there is no waiting around for me - i think the doctors are scared i'll not listen hence they don't want to let me home incase, but i realise it's so important i'm in asap as with VBAC there is chance of rupture, or with my TIA's chance i'll have another. I'm not silly, i'll defo go in straight awayI just know it's not labour at the mo.
I haven't tried Surestart yet- i will though...not sure where the nearest one is as we are in a bit of a remote seaside town so defo don't have one local.
Oh and my ebay sales are poo - what on earth is up on there?....some items 20+ people watching and no bids...grrrrrr. Another night of carp salesMummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
*hugs* MGEB - what a stressful time you've had. Don't blame you for coming home either - all they can tell you is that there's a very good chance that it will be in next two weeks but obviously nothing is guaranteed so you could stay in and be there a month!!
I'm sure everyone is telling you this but just try and take it as easy as possible and get lots of rest.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0
