I need to get some reasonable cheap newborn sleepsuits but I want ones with foldover cuffs/built in scratch mits. Does anyone know if Asda or Sainsburys sleepsuits have these?

Sainsbugs don't, have quite a lot of their bits for little man from when they had their 25% off TU. The only babygros I've got with the fold over mitts are from next but tbh I'm not sure how they are going to work as the sleeves aren't any longer.

For the ladies looking for night shirts for the hospital i never bothered buying proper night dresses as i never wear them so i bought me two mens shirts (£6 for two @ tesco) in avery large size they were fab towards the end of pregnancy as i could wear them with leggings and i wore one for the birth and one as a night shirt after the birth and they have easy access for breast feeding :-)

This is a brill idea, I have been looking for nighdresses for breastfeeding and like a lot of others have balked at paying so much for something that will only get worn for a little while.

Can someone *please* help me before I rip my skin off?! I'm so itchy! It's mainly around my stomach and back (I think from stretching) but also underarms and legs (shaving?) and under my expanding bust. I know skin can be more sensitive in pregnancy but I'm in agony. It's like a heat rash and comes up in little bumps. I try not to itch but I've even made my legs bleed it gets so bad at night. Legs and bust are very dry.
So far I have: Stopped fastening waistbands, tried to wear loose light clothing, stopped using bath/shower gel, tried bio oil, sudocreme, E45, cocoa butter, talc and 8 hour cream (desperate!). I don't use washing powder anyway and have stopped perfume.

What else might help? Everywhere I look online says it's a common side effect of stretching skin and hormones and the good news is it will pass when the baby is born (in 5 1/2 months!)

    Ideas?

have you tried the e45 anti itch? if it's really bad, you can try germolene, only because it has a mild local aneasthetic property in it, that normally helps my legs when it's bad, but i found the normal e45 a bit rubbish, but the e45 anti itch stuff worked quite well

sir monster, you could try taking the gaviscon on a regular basis, after every meal and before bed, avoid things like onion, garlic, pastry, cheese, spicy or fatty foods. Milk and yoghurt should help cool things down. Try cutting down on any caffiene if you have tea and coffee and drink plenty of water

Budget from what your saying it does sound more like a heat rash than the itching associated with your skin stretching. When you feel it coming on try holding your wrists under a running cold tap for a few minutes to cool your blood down. I had a terrible heat rash for the last two weeks of pregnancy with my first and the only thing that would sooth it was a cold bath but you dont want to be doing that for the next few months. If its getting unbearable then go and see your doctor/midwife and see what help they can offer :-)

budget - sounds awful, no advice really sorry!

cafc- bummer of a day for you. hope your evening makes up for it a bit.

I feel better for my quiet day. Did go out (felt a bit bad but hardly like working!) got the moses basket and stand, plus 2 fitted and 3 flat sheets, plus 3 x 0-6 months sleeping bags and a playmat all for £18! Amazing, things are all in good nick though they will need a wash nearer the time and I'll buy a new mattress.

Then even better I called at my friends and she had picked up some nappies someone from netmums had given me for free the other day. The woman had just said 'a bag' but there was a big bag with 15 totsbots (they looks quite small so not sure of size, but are velcroed into smallest position), plus 4 wraps (size 1) and some disposable liners. I am amazed that someone would give these (they look almost new!) away for free, esp as I offered to pay. I think I will drop her a thanks card.

Better check on the potatoes, DH will be home soon and I am hungry! We are having posh food tonight - chicked stuffed with ricotta and sage wrapped in parma ham, with spring onion mash! Was dh's idea but i've cooked it as home...all home made!

not sure about those ones but I have a winnie the pooh one from matalan which does have them. The only other ones I have with foldy cuffs are from next.
  • 20 week scan today, all is well, baby was doing head stand and sonograph lady had problems getting measurements as he/she was having a little party, swirling, punching & kicking it was hilarious.

Anyway she reckons my dates should be moved forward by 8 days which would leave me 10th August, she has recommended this to the doctor in my notes so now I have to wait & see if he agrees . Anything to make pregnancy shorter !!!!!

    Hope everyone else is well
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
