Anyone plan on doing re-usables? I am, have bought 2 Mothercare Smart Nappy Kits (Ebay, not Mothercare of course - got the lot new and sealed for £20 instead of the £80 M/care are charging). I plan to use these while i am home, which'll be most of the time and then have a stash of disposables for the first few days and also when i'm out and about for the day. I just remeber how fast DD went through disposables - especially once she started solids, the poohy nappies had to be put straight in the outside bin becuase they smelt so bad - lol!
So flushable nappy liners, reusables and a good nappy pail - i really hope i get on ok though! xMummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

I do the hairband thing on all of my jeans too, its a must - and primark essientials tops - the really stretchy plain long sleeve ones as they are about the only thing going over my belly these days (and they only cost £2 or £3 each). I still have off days where sometimes i'm huge (like looking ready to pop) and other days looking mildly pregnant as i put it and i'm 7 months now.
Asda have pack of 48 own brand nappies (newborn) for a £1 at the moment0 -
Oooh brilliant thank you - i hope they have some still later in the week when i can get to an Asda - I have just read they seem to be just as good as pampers so sounds even better!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

Afternoon people hope were all ok??
Congrats to the newborns and their moms:T Labour vibes to those that need them;)
I feel crap today, I got up at 4am cos I had this ache/pain right under my boobs so much so I was sick. I was totally knackered at that point that I was seriously tempted to sleep on the bathroom/landing floor - but I didnt I crawled back into bed.
Got up at 10 and was sick again, Ive not had anythiing to eat yet I guess I should try and have something...I could go back to bed now.
Re travel systems - we saw the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe in LOL (????) in B 'r' Us yesterday and quite liked it, I could even fold it with 1 hand so might be tempted to get that one sometime this month.
As for boobs - mine havent changed size (Im 27+1) Im still in my pre preg ones and they fit fine, is that normal????Opinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0 -
Hi yorkie, it's been a while. Sorry to hear you are feeling ill - is it M/S or a bug? If it's m/s have you tried sepia? I have got over mine but i keep having random sickness that strikes with no warning but it's rare now for me (but happened this morn - OH looked in disgust, lol)
I think anythings norm boobs wise - my sis in law barely changed and she still has great boobs. For me, With DD i went from 32D to 32E then to 30B after bfing (yes, shrunk to nothings, lol). This time from 30B to 30E/32DD so far - so i have a slight fear i'll be completely flat chested after bfing DS but hey that's what you sacrifice for the best start for them i suppose. And if i'm that upset then maybe a boob job to take me back to my origional 32D in a few years - but i doubt i'll ever be THAT bothered to get it done!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

I had my first scan and book in visit with the midwife today. All went well (except the baby wouldn't stay still long enough for her to get a decent measurement). One thing the midwife said was that breastfeeding is now "expected" of mothers. I didn't think to question at the time but thinking about it, when I had my son 5 years ago, I received NO support at all. They put a lot of pressure on me into trying but provided no support so it didn't work out for long. I asked for help several times in hospital but there was never anyone who could help apart from shoving DS on and walking away. Has support for inexperienced breastfeeders come on since then? I would like to bf for longer this time, I would ask the midwife but I won't see her for another 4 weeks. x
Aside from what others have said, there are breastfeeding support groups in most towns, which are also a good way of meeting other mums. There are also registered breastfeeding counsellors who can provide 1-2-1 support - your HV should be able to refer you to your local one.my_gorgeous_ellie-belle wrote: »Anyone plan on doing re-usables? Hope you're feeling better. I threw up this morning as well, naughty bean.
We tried this pram in Babies R Us and it was very easy to fold etc., but I thought it was quite bulky, and don't know how the car seat has fared in safety tests. I know it's a popular option though and you get a LOT for your money!!0 -

yorkgal - everyones boobs do different things so as long as your bras fit, are giving you support and not digging in then its all good. If your in doubt then you could always get measured, they dont charge for it!
mgeb - I was planning on using re usables but then had an oh no the house is so tiny Im gonna for ever have nappies everywhere moment! Fortunatley as MIL was so keen for me to not use them she said she would pay for all our nappies, so will be using naturcare as at least their eco friendlyOh and bubs is just moving slow at the mo so I think that why am not feeling her, just spent 10 min staring at my tummy lol, and can see really slow gentle movement.
ymake - bargain nappies! shame we dont have an asda close by
Just ate half a pineapplegonna have the other half a bit later but very tempted to just have it now. Only just having my 1st RLT of the day! OH rang and we agreed to pop to Tesco and have the car valeted after work, Phew! was thinking it was gonna be yucky for bubs coming home.

Lol, why is she so keen on you NOT to use them? I couldn't get my head around all the different ones. I'm not overly fussed by little leaks (inevitable with reusables or disposables) as i'll be indoors most of the time. And to save too much hassle i'll have a stock of disposables just in case
Smart thinking i think, hehe!
RSPCA show just showed a straved to death cat in someones house - i can handle the live cases because there is hope, it's the dead ones that give me the shakes. They should warn me first. Poor kitty!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
Yorkie - if you do want maternity bras though just for comfort (they are sooooo comfy - i can't believe what i was missing 1st time around as i wouldn't give up wired) then try ebay for M&S nursing bras. There are a couple of sellers (i have bought on two occasions from one seller) who are selling them packs of 2 for £5 and a few £ postage. I made my mistake of buying my first pack in M&S and they were £20.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0
