Congratulations Nikkit, and well done to Confuzzled too, you've both cheered me up lots
Just need to have a quick moan, already cried all over DH. I had an awful dream last night about baby, don't want to say exactly cos putting it down on paper makes it even worse and more real but it's enough to say my pg didn't end well. I'm finding work really tough at the moment too and have no idea how I'm supposed to manage being pregnant, a full-time teacher, a wife and a mum. We only went back on Monday and already I'm so tired I feel like I'm struggling to cope, I just can't be arsed at the moment with rude children (and trust me, there's a lot of them). I actually had to chuck two 6th forms boys out of the lesson today for talking and giving me dirty looks when I challenged them, !!!!!! they're supposed to be young adults. I'm being such a cow to loads of the kids which isn't fair on them and I don't like being like that. I'm 15 weeks now and although I feel much better and more active (I even managed to put a load of washing in the machine last night!) than I did before 12 weeks I'm still really tired and feel really hormonal. I keep thinking about my little baby when I'm yelling at some kid and how awful it must be for it to hear me squalking on like that.
Sorry, moan over. Friday tomorrowUpdating soon...0 -
If you have raised BP you have other symptoms first.. headaches, nose bleeds, seeing 'sparkles' for example.. plus I have never had high bp ever.. other than when having just had a blazing row with a moron consultant.. pre-eclampsia you get swelling, pains in bump and other symptoms.. it is just about knowing what to look for mostly.
EDIT - I've never had high BP either......before or since.......and this was 15 years ago.0 -
Congrats Nikkit :j:j:j:j0

HUGE congratulations to Nikkit (at long last...!!! I've been waiting to say that!)
Well, midwife visit wasn't great. Apparently she's worried that the baby's measuring small - I'm 32+2, but I'm measuring 30, so she's referring me for another scan for as soon as possible. I had to point out that I'm going away for the week on Saturday, and she said, well it'll wait until I get back and not to worry... how can I not worry, when she's just been telling me that she's concerned!?!
Hi
I'm a bit of a lurker. Don't come on much due to sickness/tiredness.
I'm having my second baby due 30/08/10.
With my first I too was measured as being small for dates at about 34 weeks. My midwife absolutely terrified me with telling me I'd more than likely be induced.
Anyhow got sent for a scan and was told Bean was a normal size probably an 8 pounder. Gave birth at 41 weeks to a 9lb 10 baby. So she was completely wrong.
It is easier said than done but the midwife's measurement aren't always accurate. Try to relax.
Hope your scan is ok.Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
Huuuuuge congrats to Nikkit - she said all along it would be quick once her waters broke! Love the name (think my little one will have the same
) and can't wait to see some pics!
Confuzzled - so pleased for you
Redstar - It's easier said than done but try not to worry, agree with above that if midwife was really concerned then she'd have you in for a scan tomorrow! She'll just be referring you as a precaution and to make sure.
You lot have done some major chatting today! Took me ages to catch up.
Phoned mothercare and they were really nice about the cot - the new part is being sent straight to us. Mattress, winnie the pooh blanket and lampshade arrived today. Can't wait to get the room set up!
Courgette - totally sympathise with how you're feeling. I don't know how people do this when they already have children to look after, I can barely look after myself lol. I've totally given up on being a good wife though, I'm so shattered when I get in from work that DH always has to look after me. Keep promising I'll make it up to him when I'm on mat leave! Just over 5 weeks to go.....can't come quick enough!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
