If you have raised BP you have other symptoms first.. headaches, nose bleeds, seeing 'sparkles' for example.. plus I have never had high bp ever.. other than when having just had a blazing row with a moron consultant.. pre-eclampsia you get swelling, pains in bump and other symptoms.. it is just about knowing what to look for mostly.
    !

I didnt, I had no other symptoms apart from high BP, then when I was at MW we released I had swollen ankles and then we realised I had had bad headaches (didnt know they meant anything)

Anyhoo each to their own :)

I find the MWs appointments reassuring,

    YAY Nikkit congrats :)

while I understand that you may have had some fairly terrible experiences with medical professionals which means you don't trust them anymore, and respect your right to refuse antenatal care, sweeping statements such as this may be a little inaccurate and misleading to others.

I've had high blood pressure for a few years now (regularly monitored) and zero symptoms at all. In fact, I've had more funny symptoms, headaches, dizziness on moving, sparkles when my BP changes from sitting to standing, etc, etc since my blood pressure dropped fairly significantly to a healthy level when I fell pregnant.

Just a warning to those considering self diagnosis, there are always anomalies.

ETA as there were posts when I was typing, congrats Nikkit :)
  • Oooo Congrats Nikkit! So good that you get to come home so quick, thats what I'm hoping for too :D
