Sami - OH plays cod around Keira, he "forgets" he can't play it....and when she sees him she asks for a go, the answer is a resound no, but I totally wouldn't be suprised if he HAD let her have a go when I'm out the house. He says it's just a game and blah blah.

Thing is, I know for a fact Keira has watched Chucky and Freddy Krugar at my mums  I watched Freddy at age 5, and !!!!ed my bed for 3 years afterwards with the nightmares! I went off my head obviously, but it was my sister Ellie who put it on, but why is she allowed?

Grrrr......she doesn't seem mentally disturbed by it at least!

Hoovers - we thought Alice had stopped being scared until we were moving house and went back to vacuum the old house. Then we realised that it was having a toy hoover to join in that had made the difference.

How long do they stay rear facing for? I thought it was only a few months!
That depends on whether you get a rear facing group 1 car seat or not.

And anyone else is welcome to recommend a 9 mth + car seat they've got/had. :D
I recommend the Recaro Polaric because it's rear facing. Rather than write loads about it here, here's a link to a post I wrote about it on my blog.

ooh one of my fave films! and I love missisipi burning too, have you seen Fried Green Tomatoes?
Is it weird that loads of my fave films have strong racist themes?:o:confused:
Yes I have - I enjoyed it but it did have some strange bits in it. Have you seen Malcolm X? I don't know if it's weird but I am very interested in stuff to do with racial segregation partly because it features in my family history.

And whats the important bit that means she's too big for the baby seat? Weight, size or age? I think she's still only ickle, she's got a lot of growing to do before her head reaches the top of the baby car seat. :o
Size is supposed to be the key factor. For Gp0 it's when their head reaches the top of the car seat. By law they have to be within the range 9-13kg. Age is not important at all - the ages are just given as guides so parents have a vague idea how long they will need them for.

I keep getting phone calls from an automated service saying 'This is not a sales call, did you know you can save money on your phone calls......'
Always put it down at this point but wish they'd give up - rang at 8pm when I was settling Jack & the phone is in our room

I've been to part of the set where it was filmed. (Although I wasn't there on purpose - I just happened to be staying in the town where it was flimed.) Have you seen Mississippi Burning?

yes - although I prefer A time to kill. I do love a good political drama/thriller and if there is a bit of romance and a good looking lead then all the better!
I have an extra job to do this morning - put a child lock on the loo seat. She is obsessed with sticking her hands/head down the loo at the moment . I can't take my eyes off her for a second. Fridays are always housework day so I might have to bung a load of toys in her cot and buy myself 10 mins or so that way!

Thanks - I had no idea you got such a thing. LO is also obsessed with our loos. She discovered the lid the otherday and thankfully I was there to avert disaster. What on earth do the locks look like/work?

we've put lock on two cupboards in the kitchen and cleared everything else out of the way - yet she still finds things to get into! :rotfl:

Sami when you're about. A while ago you were researching car seats - one from Costco possibly? Did you get one? Or did you find something better?

I should be getting Violets next one now she's 9 months old - and was thinking of one of the 9mth to 11yr ones........but I don't know where to start!

And anyone else is welcome to recommend a 9 mth + car seat they've got/had. :D

I have just bought LO the 9month plus - it is the maxi cosi tobi. We looked at several, but because she is quite slim built this one seemed to suit her best. It is also well padded for when she first uses it, unlike some of the other ones we tried - you could have got violet and Annabel in some of them together :rotfl: I bought it from boots as there was 20% off and double points and as I bought is over the christmas weekend online offers I ended up getting the seat for £162, free delivery and £47 of points as well. I was very pleased. HTH

Thanks for replies about dress. I think I'll go with not replying and just wait for PayPal.

We havent bothered to buy a car seat base, do you really need one?
We got one because a) it was ISOfix so I was less worried about it being not fitted correctly and b) without it we would have had to unstrap the carseat from the car every time we used it to put Alice in and out of it.

We managed to have Henry rear facing till he was about 10 months and when we wnet to get a new seat at Mothercare the girl was really impressed that we'd stuck to it that long!!!:D
 Alice was in her first carseat for nine months and she was only just heavy enough to be allowed to move up then (and she was on the 75th centile).

She's probably too young to realise what happens in them. I remember on child of our time they showed these triplets a scene from Eastenders where Barry had an argument with Janine and then she pushed him off the cliff and then they interviewed them about it afterwards and they weren't disturbed by it as they hadn't really picked up on what was happening.

Hopefully Susan. Because I think there is a lot of blood and stabbing in those movies! I haven't watched them in year so can't remember. She knows what blood is though, and totally bellows it out when you cut yourself. "YOU GOT BLOOD MUM? LEMMIE SEE? AWWW POOR MUMMY, YOU GOT A SORE FINGER? OH NO NO DON'T TOUCH THE BLOOD MUM!"

Incidentally, whilst on the topic of blood, she was having a hissy fit last night, and bucking around the sofa like a loon and threw herself back, and her jack in the box was underneath her blanket and she clouted her head right off it, she cut it slightly, I mean like a tiny scratch with a bit of blood and I stupidly mentioned to OH that there was a bit of blood and that was it "I GOT BLOOD? *SCREEEAAAAMING* WAAAAH LEMMIE SEE IN THE MIRROR, I DONT WANT BLOOOD "SQUEEEEEAL"

This was all in between sobs because she has a nice big egg lump on her head today. On that note, I best go get the little monkey. Quite pleased, she ate 1 weetabix this morning, and 2 bits of toast (no crusts) and she didn't mention sore teeth when chomping, so we'll see how it goes. Normally it's a major battle to get food into her, oh yes and I asked if she wanted to try a little bit of sugar on her weetabix (she still had 1 left to eat) and she said, let me smell it first......I put a TINY bit on and she started saying "YUK NO I DONT LIKE SUGAR, I DONT WANT THIS ANYMORE MUM, YOU MADE IT GUSTING!"

    Whoopsies!
