  • I am pleased to report that MIL thinks that CM is a lovely woman!! CM gave MIL the grand tour and chatted for a while before MIL took Benjamin back to my house.

That makes my life easier anyway!

On the down side, Benjamin was shattered after an exciting day with CM AND Nan AND DAD so he was in bed for 7.15pm, giving me only just over an hour with him :(

I love being back at work and I am really happy with the daycare that Benjamin is getting...I just wish I could keep him up until 8pm :o

I appreciate what you are all saying but I can't help thinking "they wouldn't say that if they really knew". I wish I could just enjoy being a Mummy, but I still feel terrible most of the time. Psychiatrist in a month, where I'll be told off for not starting on the medication :(

Tia, I don't do anything terrible, but I'm adequate at best. I don't do enough stimulating things. I'm not patient enough. I'm not great with weaning. I worry more about him being older. As a baby, things like being stuck inside don't make that big a difference, but as he gets older it'll have a huge impact on his life.

I still worry loads myself about not doing a good enough job as a mom.

You're doing great :o Don't even think about giving him up, he needs his mommy. xx

does anyone use the hungry baby milk on the night feed? Jillie, thought you posted earlier that you did?

it was suggested to DH by someone (in the pub) that if you give their last feed at night with it, it fills them up so they sleep through. but as Kian at the time as feeding every 2 hrs (except at night ) and i was getting sooo tired from it (and cranky) i started using it all the time so i could have a breakfrom the constant feeding, washing, sterilising, filling again. he now feeds every 4 hrs and 6oz will do him from 12midnight to about 7 or 8 in the morning. he takes about 5oz each feed maybe a little more but not quite up to 6oz everytime.

Being a good mummy involves a certain amount of guilt, as I see it - and the guilt means you're concerned you're doing it wrong, which means you're doing it right. Bad mummies don't worry because they don't care.

Ooops!! I don't worry at all really :o but I do care!

I know some stuff because I read your letter. And I can honestly say that there was nothing in there that I found overly shocking...or that tons of us on here have probably felt at one point or another. I appreciate that we don't feel it all the time but I am not sure things are as bad as you think hun.

Why haven't you started on your medication? Sorry if I missed you saying already.

  • Feelie, just wanted to say I saw you with Tobes on Monday remember? ;)

You are fantastic with him and to me had a very clear and strong bond with him.

I tell myself daily that I must be doing something wrong as I cant get my baby to sleep, we have had a terrible time weaning, she has no routine during the day. The only groups I have been to are the sling meets with the ladies from on here.... I could go on.

I know that at the end of the day she is happy, so after I sit all day questioning my abilities as a parent, I cuddle her to sleep and kiss her goodnight and watch her sleep for a few seconds and see how content she is and know that after all Im doing alright!

We all know your doing brilliantly and I hope you can see that too.

    Hope I havnt offended you,
    Take care

I didn't mean that if you don't worry that means you don't care, but if you're a bad mummy you don't care therefore you don't worry, IYSWIM :o

LOL!! Don't worry, I knew what you meant!

But incidentally, I don't worry about what anybody else thinks of my parenting skills...I know I have been frowned on at the occasional baby group that I have been to for letting him wander off on his own  They should try keeping up with him!!

As long as Benjamin and I are safe and happy, then my parenting skills are fine :D
