Personally Glam, I chose a nursery for Jasmine over a childminder, because I feel very strongly that an interaction with other kids their own age is very good for them and can help them learn to play, share and to try new things as they are more willing to do what others are doing !!
I understand I am very lucky and have a fantastic nursery which is staffed 1 to 4 kids per room less than 10 mins from my house, but I do think that even so, I would have chosen a nursery anyway, as for me personally I think that home environment at a CMs is what I want to give on my days at home, and its not for someone else to give my child. The two best things I have done with my life

Evening ladies
Watching Benidorm, getting a glass of wine in a sec.........
Re: CMs - I prefer a CM because (when they are a bit older obv) I want them to have a change from being in the classroom and I like the fact that going to thw CMs is like going to 'mum's friends' house' IYKWIM. I prefer the homely environment and that they can mix with different kids. Plus my CM is only 2 mins up the road from my work.
rmac - what's your gossip?!!
Off to catch up...................Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Oh, I have no intentions in getting in a debate, its just a lot of people on here are using CMs, so there are loads of positives for it, I just thought I would share some of the positives for nursery too
At the end of the day, everyone has a preference, and some have no choice !! Each to their own

Seemed incredibly thin compared to what I expected and also compared to his milk - his milk is thicker!
LOL - ignore the packet and make it up to look like food!!! Especially if you have been giving him fromage frais!! He probably doesn't know what to do with it! I did it like porridge, and quite thick porridge at that.Krystaltips wrote: »Elle, I would probably skip the baby rice and go straight to proper food... There's no nutrition in it AFAIK... I just used to use it as a thickener to purees for Aimee...
On the whole breakfast cereal thing... Isn't there something about the fibre content of some too? I know babies aren't supposed to have brown bread before 12months...
Oh god - this is why I don't read books!! What the hell is wrong with brown bread? Are they just intent on not letting babies have anything with taste in it??
*wanders off mumbling to google*
Well, Jack is being a b00ger AGAIN he just won't settle unless he's sleeping on me or OH - I want him to settle in his cot but he's having none of it! Hopefully The Baby Whisperer will shed some light on how to do it!
Jack has 150ml bottles and has had 8 in the last 24 hours
Why don't you try something in between? It is a massive leap to go from sleeping on you or OH to being asked to settle himself. Can you get him to sleep (or halfway there) and then put him down? Or will he settle on a pillow on your lap?
LOL MM - I did say that the nursery/CM conversation is an emotive one

Josh is now sobbing in his bedroom because I won't let him watch Benidorm! He's just been down saying he's not tired and jumping up and down to prove it - I told him to go back to bed so he's thrown Caitlyns playgym upside down and has told me he's not picking it up
She's asleep on the sofa, out for the count at the minute. DH has gone out - quite annoyed as he's only been in the house for an hour since he got back from work. Hmph - wish I had that luxury.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0
