I do this all the time!! I have to give the monitor to hubby every evening because otherwise I end up with it stuck to my ear all evening!!

:T - I like your attempt at getting Rhys in bed...but seeing as you have been feeding him at night (rice cakes and then Sweet and Sour IIRC!!) then you may find he wakes wanting food later!

When I first started weaning I found it really hard to fit 3 meals into a day with milk feeds in between, the key is to make sure breakfast is early enough!!

Just in case you may be interested (!) we aim for breakfast between 8 and 9, lunch between 12 and 1 and dinner between 5 and 6.
Then milk feeds when he wakes, both boobs, sometimes with a nap in between!! 11am bottle, 3pm bottle, possibly a booby feed about 4.30pm and then a night-time booby feed when he is ready for bed (could be 6, could be 7).

    :o Whaddya mean you didn't ask :o
    :rotfl:

Not cropping any of your post cos it's all relevant! So :p;) If I wasn't asking then, you know I would have done soon enough!

He's been a guzzle guts today and had four bottles within ten hours (usually four in twelve) plus two meals (apple and yoghurt and S'n'S Chicken) and snacks (tomato thingys that he found very amusing). I know he'll be up for another feed before midnight but at least it'll be this side of midnight then hopefully he'll go through to 8am-ish. I'm not liking going to bed and getting up late anymore - feels very wasteful of each day! :o

Talking of finding things amusing, he really seems to have developed a sense of humour in the last week or so.. He was finding it hilarious when I ate his tomato snacks too, and he pulled the ugliest stroppy face ever earlier and me copying him was apparently very funny, so he kept putting on the stropping face then beaming smiles.. My dinky one is awesome, have I said that lately? ;):D

Elle - lovely picture of Rhys, looking as gorgeous as ever. Next will swap it for you and will order the smaller size in if they have it in their warehouse. My friend bought Caitlin a 3-6 month hat, 0-3 month slippers and 6-9 month romper suit (all Christmassy ones). The hat was too big, the slippers too small and the romper suit could have almost fitted two of her in, so I went in to Next without the receipts and they ordered the right size of everything in for me. How much does Rhys weigh now?

Ta :) I don't know how much he weighs this week - the nurse forgot the scales on Monday :( But I'd hazard a guess at 11lb. *IF* we get up early enough, I might take him down to the SureStart centre on Thursday morning to see our HV and get him weighed then.

Well done on BFing so long :D xxx

SS - your brother sounds like a nightmare. How old is he?
    20
I'm gutted that I've been so excited about Christmas and now I'm looking at it as something just to get through.
((hugs)) ss ... cant your mum have a word? x
She's here. He told us we should get a hotel so we didn't disrupt his undisciplined dog, I told him to !!!!!! - and she attacked me for being rude to him. She babies him unbelievably.
SS will he be there all of christmas ? At least hubby will be there with you so you have someone to b!tch about him too !! I would expect your mum to say something though, but thats just me

He'll be there the whole time, and my mother has no concept of not reinforcing his behaviour - she babies him to the extent that she cuts up his meat for him (he has a slight one-sided weakness that is not sufficiently disabling to prevent him taking flying lessons but means he needs help slicing tender roast meat).

I'm off to bed shortly to sob on Husband.

    Tigs, lovely picture :A

Sami - I vaguely remember some talk on here a while ago about a cup that you get free in one of the Emma's Diary or Bounty packs. Is that the same cup?
yes same cup, I got Chris's when I got the bookstart bag but not sure when it was  I've not been given one for Ed but they're quite cheap

Sorry, but that just made me LOL....I was just thinking that I should ask on here about that...you must be psychic!!!

    That's really helpful, thank you.

Currently we're only on week 3 of weaning, but our day is:
    7:15ish breakfast and bottle
    10:15ish bottle and bottle
1:15ish lunch and try water in cup. Plus bottle as won't take water.
    4:15ish bottle
    7 ish bottle.

have you been on the PO website and got a quote? then you'll know if they've kept your NCB or not
 i went on there and it had pre-filled out my details when i realised how much more a month they are charging me compared to last year, which is the only reason i actually know all this has come about! one of their monkeys rang me yesterday when i was sat in a traffic jam so i asked them to ring back in 10 mins, i had a missed call 25 mins later and then another one a hour later and havent heard from them today  gonna give them til tomorrow evening and then ring them again, someone i spoke to said he had it in his diary to call me tomorrow so we will see  monkeys!

Why does my cat complain when the dog licks her to death, but then follows doggy around everywhere

They're my babies too so still relevant to parenting :rotfl: (it's like having another few kids with those little rogues:rotfl:)
