Oh MFD i meant to say before we had jasmines check last week, it was an 8month check tho, anyway she doesnt point yet! she does wave tho! the HV didnt mention pointing anyway, I think the HV was quite impressed that she picked up a book and looked like she was reading it!! lol!!

jasmine has never had her head or length measured though! then again neither did jake, maybe different areas check on diff things?

jakesmummy - yay for waving babies! It's so cute isn't it! Benjamin nods in the right place when you ask him a question - it is such a great party trick!! Lots of 'Isn't mummy beautiful?' type questions

Ahh thanks everyone, i feel i'm being v.ungrateful and moany about it, but i guess i'm not the first or last to worry about induction.

Sami thanks for that, i had heard of these stats about stillbirth getting more risky the longer you leave it, so good to see what those stats boil down to. I'm pretty much trusting of any decision a medical professional makes, and think they obviously induce at 2 weeks for a reason, so would be happy with that.

But at the minute my mindset is telling me my body should do it in it's own time, i might feel differently if it was my first cos my DS labour was so straightforward, 2 days early and v.quick, and no probs at all. This pregnancy has been similarly easy but with some added sickness, so i'm thinking the dates can't have been all that accurate in the first place. I know some people just don't go into labour on their own and need the help of induction, but i have faith in my body that it will do it alone

SS, reading your post does make me think twice though, each pregnancy is different so i shouldn't even be comparing with DS, i'd hate for anything to go wrong and there's now the added worry that i'm having a HB so it's an ambulance ride away if anything does happen.

edit - as you can see with the above waffle, i still don't have a clue what i'm talking about and will !!!!!! and chill Is there any truth in the hot bath theory for helping you on your way btw? Me and PP are plotting diy sweeps and allsorts over on preggy :rotfl::rotfl: (can't reach tho )

:T - I like your attempt at getting Rhys in bed...but seeing as you have been feeding him at night (rice cakes and then Sweet and Sour IIRC!!) then you may find he wakes wanting food later!

When I first started weaning I found it really hard to fit 3 meals into a day with milk feeds in between, the key is to make sure breakfast is early enough!!

Just in case you may be interested (!) we aim for breakfast between 8 and 9, lunch between 12 and 1 and dinner between 5 and 6.
Then milk feeds when he wakes, both boobs, sometimes with a nap in between!! 11am bottle, 3pm bottle, possibly a booby feed about 4.30pm and then a night-time booby feed when he is ready for bed (could be 6, could be 7).

Not cropping any of your post cos it's all relevant! So If I wasn't asking then, you know I would have done soon enough!

He's been a guzzle guts today and had four bottles within ten hours (usually four in twelve) plus two meals (apple and yoghurt and S'n'S Chicken) and snacks (tomato thingys that he found very amusing). I know he'll be up for another feed before midnight but at least it'll be this side of midnight then hopefully he'll go through to 8am-ish. I'm not liking going to bed and getting up late anymore - feels very wasteful of each day!

Talking of finding things amusing, he really seems to have developed a sense of humour in the last week or so.. He was finding it hilarious when I ate his tomato snacks too, and he pulled the ugliest stroppy face ever earlier and me copying him was apparently very funny, so he kept putting on the stropping face then beaming smiles.. My dinky one is awesome, have I said that lately?

Ta I don't know how much he weighs this week - the nurse forgot the scales on Monday But I'd hazard a guess at 11lb. *IF* we get up early enough, I might take him down to the SureStart centre on Thursday morning to see our HV and get him weighed then.
