Those after cheep cheese - have you tried tesco value mild cheddar? I never considered it but my friend made me taste some and it's lovely :D

We use this for Jacket potatoes and chips and cheese but not enough flavour for Mac cheese, we get the Aldi mature and extra mature for this
    Yum, cheese.......

    Hi 3

Yes my brain is suitably frazzled:p Not long left for you now....are you looking forward to being a SAHM?

Yes - but still terrified! Apart from my three lots of maternity leave, i've never been off work since I started at 16! But luckily I have the option of going back if I find being a full time mum too tedious!

Ex OH was a fussy B., but didn't notice for years that his Kellogs cornflakes were actually KwikSave ones. :rotfl:

I'm a bit of a hypocrite though - I have to have Heinz beans, and can't do smart price meat. But, when i'm organised I go to Aldi for the meat (and fruit/veg) as I think its much better quality than Asda/Tesco/Sainsbury.

When we have any meat, I have to cut/pick any white bits/stringy bits out before I cook it - I find theres a lot less wastage when its Aldi.

  • Goodness me, all this talk about bargains puts me to shame. Shopping with 7 girls in tow, means the best bargain is getting out of the shop asap, fully intact.

I'll have to learn how to save money on food I think. I mean, we do well, but not as well as you serious bargain finders :o I'm impressed!

Thank you searching, ladybird and Mel for your comments (hope I didn't miss anyone else). We are having a nice evening, had a lovely meal prepared by 16yo who is a fine young cook and now they are all having a hair session with Lucy. If she hadn't already won them over, she'd be sure to win them over as they love all the hair and makeup stuff. The games will have to wait until tomorrow.

Lucy bought a load of food as she wants to cook tomorrow. Looking forward to a good ladies home cooking. The girls mothers were awful in the kitchen
    :rotfl:

Krystal - make sure the poor bloke is still intact. You never know when you'll need it ;)

I hope you all have a great evening aside from the bargain talk and catch you soon.

    Thanks csh:)

Sami, dh grew up on crap as his mum spent on the money on booze and was never in or in a fit state to cook for them anyway:( I think that may be why he is slightly fussier...possibly psychological.

Weezl - He hasn't done any maths!! He leaves ALL the budgetting/finances to me...all he does is whinge and moan like a baby when I tell him we can't afford things like PS3 games. or other techno gadgets he might want/need. This is why we end up arguing all the time...he can't or won't take any responsibility for money. If we try and sort out finances together we just end up in huge rows EVERY TIME...which is why I just do it myself....quiet life!

    Mel, you're a saint!

I'd be tempted to let hunger be a teacher, give him a tenner cash at the start of the week and he has to entirely feed himself on it. By weds it'd be all gone and by friday=voila! reasonable hubby!:rotfl:

    Sorry I'm just playing around.

It is amazing that you are willing to do all that budgetting and topping up of income all for love. I admire you.
