Saw a couple of Mums today, and invited them round here next week, which is a big step.
All sounds good Feelie! I could do with someone here to entertain V. I keep meaning to do stuff in the house, but get distracted playing instead.My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Cute Avvy 3
Thank you. MIL bought the outfit so she wore it for the nursery Christmas party yesterday.
Our avvys now make me think V and Benjamin are meant to be together!
Rmac I love the dress - but I love french connection! Thanks to your link I noticed there was quite a few bits in the sale.
If anyone else is a french connection fan (or for sisters/aunties christmas presents), Boots are doing a huge black bag filled with full size french connection smellies. The bag is big enough for nappies/wipes etc - but grown up enough to not look like a pram bag.
OH got it for my birthday last week for £45 - but from today until Sunday, its reduced to £20.00.

Mel I'm glad you got your finances a little bit sorted - but it really makes your brain hurt doesn't it!
Beenie Where are you? Do you realise you have to post at least every half hour now, or we'll all be worrying about you!:beer:0 -
Talking of farm shops...we went past one today (well the sign for it) are they worthwile?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

It costs the vineyards about £4-ish to get the wine into the bottles, so anything less than that and they're basically paying you to take it off their hands. I won't buy wine with an RRP under £10, but then I am a wine snob and this is where my priority is. I will drink a €40 bottle of wine with oven chips and value bread rather than buy crap wine.
Wine Evangelism!!
Best not tell you about the £3.49 Aldi Reisling I'm drinking then. I'll pay over a tenner for Prosecco tho, love it!0 -

Quite expensive for the meat and stuff but I like veg from there. Some of the supermarket stuff lies in warehouses getting sprayed with chemicals to keep it fresh for shipping. I like stuff fresh from the ground but too lazy to grow my own!0 -

You know hat I would also respect him a bit more if he did work hard for 'his' money!! He hasn't worked for years, mainly due to mental health problems, and maybe I am a bit harsh on him sometimes....but I don't really respect anythng about him, I think he is lazy and self-centred. He has the gift of the gab (learnt from his mum) and so smooth talking always makes people think he is something he isn't (if that makes any sense at all)
hmmmmmn that's tricky Mel. I think my worry is that if someone isn't able to work due to ill health that the state system doesn't really pay enough incapacity benefit to afford the best brand levels. In that sense his tastes may be dependant on a budget he can't afford unless you are able to top him up. IYSWIM
How does he feel about that or do you think he hasn't done the maths, so to speak?

Mel - I get the value mince issue, I can't stand the stuff BUT I can afford to be choosy at the mo. Beggars can't be choosers (that is aimed at ur OH mostly
) I grew up on frozen mince from quicksave, I was about 15 before I realised meat wasn't supposed to be so chewy :rotfl: what would happen if you laid down the law and said it was value x y and z or nothing?
Those after cheep cheese - have you tried tesco value mild cheddar? I never considered it but my friend made me taste some and it's lovely0
