So what does everyone serve on Xmas day? I stupidly went over to the OS board and the amount of effort and food people put out
Last year we had
Prawn and avacado cocktails for the starter
For the main meal I did, Turkey, Skirlie (Scottish stuffing kinda, fried oats) Stuffing, Carrot and Neep mashed together, Green beans, Brussels, Roast spuds, Mashed spuds, gravy, honey glazed roast parsnips, cranberry sauce (no pigs in blankets as OH's mum is a muslim and It would of been disrespectful and too much faff cooking it all seperately, making sure nothing touched, plus she hates the smell) and yorkshire puddings
Pudding - I just bought a chocolate cheesecake (which no-one ate as too stuffed, except Keira....who ate fish fingers....) as no-one likes trifle or Christmas cake!
This year it will be the same, even though OH's mum won't be here, I won't be doig pigs in blankets, as his sister doesn't eat much red meat, or pork (if any?) plus I don't like em
and for starter this year I might tempt my hand at making haggis balls!
But some people have like 3 different meats, bread sauce (what the hell is bread sauce?) cauliflower and cheese (erm why?) cheesy leeks (gross!) etc etc etc....0 -

I won't write it all out, but we just have the basic Christmas dinner. Turkey, potatoes, vegetables - usually 4 or 5 sorts, gravy, stuffing etc etc.
With trifles for desert.
Too much and it gets wasted.
How many of you do you cook for?0 -
