  • Evening all - I'm glad feelie is back :)

Izzy is currently sitting on the floor demolishing some mango - at least she will eat fruit! She also loves sausages, so i've got a box of pre-cooked cocktail ones from tescos - I'm sure DH will help her finish them!

Oh no, I speak too soon - now we are playing with toys. Food is boooring!

Well it worked out ok, sister replied and picked DS up from school in the end so i went to my mw appt.

I'm all set for a home birth
Well, i will be in the morning when the hospital porter has been to drop off the HB pack. Can't order any pethidine in though as today would have been the last day and the consultant isn't in over the weekend so if i need that i'll have to go to hospital. Should be ok though i had DS with g&a even though they gave me pethidine which dind't kick in til after the event.

There was a lovely student mw there who is really excited and is going to attend my HB, she hasn't witnessed a birth yet as she's quite new but she's absolutely lovely and i'm happy she's gonna be there. She's given her mobile number so the mw's will ring her when i'm said to be in established labour.

So as long as i don't go into labour tonight i'm having her here!

I will have to dig out some old blankets and stuff, really don't wanna get any blood on my new bedroom carpet :rotfl: Seriously, how messy will it be?? I have an old duvet i can bin afterwards, and some old towels that can get stained, should i put something on the floor near the bed?

Feel really reassured even though a week ago i was adamant i didn't want a HB.

Thanks so much for the support xx

Thats fantastic Beenie! I'm sure you'll love it :)
Its really not very messy at all, if Edgar hadn't pooped on his way out I don't think anything would have got dirty really :)
There is a list of ideal things to have I shall go look for it xx

Thanks! The mw asked if i had a spare shower curtain and i said no but i'll go buy one, and she said well you won't have time tomorrow cos u gotta wait in the for porter and the mw! So she said to make do with what i have. Mw is coming tomorrow to go through it with me, i'm assuming she'll look at the bedroom to make sure they have room for their stuff? Not sure what else, she said a birth plan, since it's now changed.

Sorry, keep trying to get on, not gonna happen today. Maddy's really snuffly and grumpy and Bens eardrum burst in the night so lots of TLC going on here!
Too many children, too little time!!!

I put everything in a plastic crate so the MWs/ my OH could find it all easily and don't forget a 'just in case hospital bag'.

When the MW came to mine when I'd booked my HB she said the main thing they need is space (as I 'knew' I would give birth on the bed) to get around me and a changing table near a plug (the changing mat is just somewhere to put baby and the plug is in case they need to use re-sus equipment)
