HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!! _party_

Well done to everyone brave enough to weigh themselves this week - I just haven't had the guts yet, having eaten the equivalent of my own body weight over the last week. Sinful but boy was it all delicious! We still have so much leftover especially untouched boxes of chocolates that we haven't a hope of getting through.... are there any charities or such like that would want them?? Later today I will be making christmas pudding strudel but that will be the last of the "naughty food" for me, anything left after that is going in the compost bin, then it's back to the diet full time.

I was delighted to lose a stone in just 2 months at the end of last year so my goal is to lose another one by my birthday (end of March). Also, I'm getting ready for my next interview for the big job on Monday, going back over my notes from a few weeks ago and just going for it - it's so close now I can almost taste it. If I do get it I may just pass out from all the tension......:p

victory - so sorry that you are suffering at the mo', sounds like you are really going through it. Hope the change in meds settles down for you, what a nightmare. <<hugs>> for you.

Welcome to all the newbies :hello: bargainbasement - like you I've tried SW, WW etc but always found myself obsessing over food and staying within their rules. Have you looked at The Harcombe Diet? I've been following it since the end of Sept and been delighted with the result. It's basically cutting out processed food & caffeine and never mixing fats & carbs in the same meal. Once you get your head around it it's very easy to follow and becomes second nature after a while.

Will be steeling myself to get back on the scales next week. Good luck to everyone in whatever to are aiming for this year - got a feeling it's going to be a great one!!

missy your stats are absolutely fantastic, I wish I was like the lucky lot that eat and don't gain but I know I have eaten so very much, so very unnecessarily much these last few days that once I stop being so ridiculously greedy it will go again:D I honestly am looking forward to Monday because now I am just eating for the sake of it because it happens to be there even the kids are sick of being force fed to get rid of it all:rotfl:

Beanie I know what you mean about unhealthy food being cheaper, the majority of the BOGOFs and suchlike are unhealthy.

The secret lg, is when you fall off the wagon (and we all do) make sure you come straight on line and get yourself back on it. It is sticking with it and not beating yourself up for mistakes thatshifts the weight.
Oh, and break it down into much smaller chunk that 10st, so you get lots of achievement milestones along the way.

Beanie- my biggest probem is that carbs are so cheap, so I eat too many. I do much better on fewer carbs and more protein: just seems to suit me.
It must be hard feeding kids though - I only have us two to consider
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Final big dinner today, last big family meal of the festive season. Home made steak pie, mashed tatties, pea and ham. Mega fattening, but mega tasty. :o

As you know i've not really lost anything for a while now. Starting on Saturday, it's back to megatrying. I've done it before, I can do it again. And won't be happy until I get back to having lost 4 stone or more! My sig is now about a stone out, should really change it, but don't have the heart to. So want to keep it as it is until i take another stone off then I can celebrate again :D
    4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j

Thanks yes I do:D it is a constant battle to keep it off but hey was put on this earth to struggle:rotfl: make sure you cut your weight down into bite size pieces though because if you think you have 10 stone to loose it may defeat you before you even start, I used to say right I want to loose 7lb by such and such or 7lb for this wedding or by this date, I want to loose 2lb this week so that next week I will weigh this much and do it that way, mine was WW and am a very healthy advocate of WW many a diet the cabbage soup diet, the fruit only diet, the no carbs, the protein, the silly ones, the sensible ones, the daft ones tried them all lost gained lost but WW keeps me sane, healthy, weight off (unless it is xmas!) and would recommend...

Oh weighed again today and since yesterday when it said I Had gained 2.5lb in a day it now says I have lost 3lb in a day since last night so the scales say over all with the 2lb over before xmas eve and now after that I have gained 6lb in total over what it should be, much better than 10lb but not declaring anything until next wednesday weigh in starting on monday there will def be no food left in this house and before that OH keeps promising me a chinese take away and when it comes to it keeps back tracking so I am going to have to create a fuss either tomorrow or sunday before the diet begins again in earnest on monday to get the !!!!!! in before I can no longer have one:D
