    Here is this weeks chart:

    30Dec2009.jpg

Congrats to our SOTW Catalogue Queen, and our SOTM Honey D who have both made some good losses during a difficult month.

In future (and in anticipation of the influx of new members) anyone who does not post a result in a whole month will not be on the chart for the following month.

Also anyone who does not post a result for the week may not be shown on the chart for the week (it depends on how much I need to reduce the chart to get in on one page on my PC) - but will remain on the chart for future weeks.

Good luck to everyone for the next week.:j

Oh MC that is sooooo funny!!!! Hilarious. I love people like you. I always feel slightly embarrassed by partaking in a game of bingo, although i have a snob streak in me that is for sure. Hate going in asda! ha.

I hope everyone has a lovely New years eve whether in or out! Happy new year to you all xxxxxx

Thanks for the kind words, everyone, and the good wishes to OH.

I don't think my dislike of bingo has anything to do with a snob streak, I have tried playing it in the past but I just find it intensely boring and mindless, and the artificial excitement just leaves me cold. But it seems to crop up everywhere that there are older people. The DJ man at the hotel, who surely had been a sergeant-major in an earlier existence because of his unbearably-loud and intrusive voice, wanted people to buy a lot of tickets because, at the end of the session 'you might win the lot' and the more tickets sold the bigger the pot. It's greed, cupidity, isn't it - the desire for something for nothing.

At least we were free agents and could come and go, whereas a friend has just got back from a coach holiday to Morecambe and her experience was a lot worse. She said the hotel was nice, it was the people, a lot older than us and smelling of urine. Also all that they wanted to do was to - play bingo!!

I shouldn't be snobby about Asda, because my GD works there picking internet orders to be delivered. At least it's better than the prospects for many of her generation, the under-25s, for whom there seems to be nothing at all.

  • thanks for the chart fred:T

I totally agree with your MC - it is not snobbery not to like bingo - it is just differnt tastes. I too would hate to be forced to play it now, as I would be totally bored so why should I be any different at 70+.I also wouldn't book on a group holiday like that now so why would I then etc.

Everyone - have a very happy new year...finish those goodies and get back on track...I hope by saying that I will some how magically manage it myself:rotfl:

    Thanks for the chart Fred.

MC my wrinkly mum was persuaded to go to bingo by my aunt a few years ago and the two of them were thrown out for talking to loud when they were shouting out the numbers :D. They take it sooo seriously!! I hope your Christmas is better next year and you have a great New Year to make up for it.

Well done all loosers and sts-ers

Thinking about getting a sealed pot and putting £5 for every 1lb lost in it so that when I get to my 30lb total I will have £150 to spend on something nice to wear.
Happy Hogmany everyone and hope you all have a good one.

    Hola

Sorry I haven't been around much, hope you all had a great Christmas. Enjoy old years night and new years day!

We've had a great Christmas and in all honesty we haven't given a thought to our waistlines and haven't braved the scales yet. Our new year resolutions will be to lose weight and get fit, so as of Jan 3rd we'll be focussing our minds. Our son's wedding is on 12th June so we've got less than 6 months to get in shape - we're hoping to lose at least 2.5 stones in that time, hopefully more and we've put our strategy in place so that we will do regular exercise whatever the weather. It's good to have something to focus on and aim for.

We're not weighing in this week, but we WILL be back on the chart again next Wednesday, so see you then.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL when it gets to you:)

I'll be bouncing (or should that be rolling?) back to this challenge thread in 2010 with the hope of shedding a few more kilos. I'd like to weigh in under 9 stone this time next year. :D

so what are all your plans for new year!? i personally am not in the news year mood this year, dont know why, just not feeling it.

I forgot (again!) to report in yeasterday, but Astonishingly im reporting a sts! not a clue how that happened! ive been cramming my face from about the 20th and havnet really stopped! ( i remeber the time i destroyed an entire choclate santa (we're talking a good 1/2 foot high choclate santa) in one afternoon!.....fond , fond memories...)

anyway...back on it now! I Have this beautiful summer dress, but it sit above the knee and at the moment my thights are just not good enough to pull ut off (even with leggins on) so i have my new motivation to push me throught he next few months before spring arrives!

    xx
shift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......
