Hello all,
Wishing you all a very happy new year, and hoping it brings you all that you'd wish for yourself. Here's to leaving behind everything from 2009 that we don't wish to take into the new year.... for me that means weight gain, amongst other things.
There are still a few too many festive goodies hanging around the house today, which I am going to try to force feed the rest of the family with today, so that the house is relatively healthy from tomorrow. OH is also wanting to focus on getting 'cut' in the new year, so he's wanting to reduce his body fat right down to give his muscles more definition, which will give me the added help of keeping on the right side of the tracks foodwise. He can be very focussed and disciplined, and whilst he's home now after being made redundant, I have no excuse.
I'm just hoping the weather will get a bit milder now so I can get back out on my bike again soon. I can't get my Wii fit board to work at the mo, and no idea why?! The boys tell me it's not worked for a while, which would have been useful to know while it was still under the 1yr warranty!
I weighed in this morning, to get my new starting weight. Fred, could you zero me on the chart so that I can start again, as the loss on their isn't a true reflection of how I'm ending this year (more's the pity). It's TOTM starting any time now, so the 2lb gain I've got this morning should be gone next week regardless, so hopefully by next Wednesday I can at least see that loss, maybe more?
I have to say I am rather looking forward to the new start again in 2010. I'm currently reading Charlie Walduck's book 'Slimmer Charlie' (the chap who was featured on 'This Morning' on ITV1 a couple of years back), that I won by posting a question to Charlie on ivillage. It is very interesting reading his story, and relating to his 'relationship' with food, although I've never had the misfortune to top the scales at 50 stone like he did, but he is inspiring when you read about his many attempts to lose weight, and then getting an insight into when he finally changed his attitude to food. I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and can recommend it.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Thanks again for being a great crowd here - many of whom i now regard as friends: can't believe this is my 3rd new year's eve with you all.
I too need to get a grip food wise over the next few days. I feel very hopeful about life in 2010.
Have a great evening all. We are happy to be in, just the two of us and a lush HM lasagne and Jools. I've made my OH a trifle too, go me

I'm another one happily spending the evening at home!
Hope 2009 was overall a good year for everyone and that 2010 will be even better! Good luck everyone with your weight losses, and hope lots of people reach their targets to join the maintainers!
I met or exceeded my weight control and exercise 'resolutions' this year, I've also just totted up my financial/savings challenge and pleased to report I exceeded that by over £500 - now need to decide whether to treat myself or add it to the savings pot :rotfl:. My only other one was to makeover my kitchen, which has been done except for a few finishing touches.
As for this festive season I'm still working diligently on that 'pre-paid' 3-4lb gain I've allowed myself! If it goes over (which it might!) I'll be back on the LW trail again!
