Happy New Year to everyone.
I stepped on the scales today after not weighing for a while - and have lost 3lbs  I've no idea how - am in danger of turning into a round of cheese with the amount of the stuff I've eaten.
Anyone who wishes to go back to zero will be "pinked" on the chart so just let me know. So far those who have been pinked are PepPop, Beanielou, Sarymaclary - if I've missed anyone else please let me know.
Welcome to all the new people - many of us are in for the long haul, there are many inspirational people in here. We're all friendly and like to have a giggle while we struggle onwards and we share lots of tips and advice.
I post the chart late on Wednesday evenings so please post all your losses for the week before then and you'll be included.0 -
Shall I be pinked? What does it mean? How does it work? What shall I do? Where will I go? Frankly...:rotfl: Shall I though?:D
Off to work in a mo, snowed again or rather frosted again, car trouble so will have to walk the 2 streets away to my work:rotfl: it is leaking petrol as fast as we put it in it comes out what a waste of money turns out it is a tiny little pipe that OH reckons he has fixed why did it take him 3 1/2 hours to sway little pipes over?:rotfl:
Have a great day everyone and newbies stick with it it is well worth it in the end, the good feelings you get from the achievements and how much better you feel is priceless, there are two new shows starting about diets, one on tuesday and the american biggest looser will be watching, thinking of doing hannah new one she lost 5 stone in 3 months with the exercise also got it pinned on the wall in the kitchen from the sun newspaper this week...0 -

Morning, I have just been weighed - 12 stone 11 lbs.. uh oh, not good for a little lass! Nutritionally balanced meals, home cooked and small portions is the way i'm going to tackle the weight loss.0
-
Okay, I've just done my 'weekly weigh in' and am now 4.2lbs over my 'maintaining weight'
The last time I was this weight was 2 years ago, I am not happy with myself  I know where I went wrong - all those Christmas dinners for work and Christmas treats.
So, the 'diet' starts today :j
Back to:- sensible food (cut out sweets, cake, butter .....)
- sensible portion sizes (will now weigh all my portions - I know they've grown in size recently)
- calorie counting and
- writing it down in a note book (my last one ran out in October and I didn't replace it - it's so easy to eat a 'little something' when you don't have to write it down.
and if it is not too much trouble move me on to the Weight Loss Chart? I am determined not to be there for more than 2 months, so if you would prefer me to stay on the Maintenance Chart I am happy to do that. Also, could you please pink me for now?
Thanks for listening folks, I know some of you have longer journeys to get to your ideal weight, but staying there needs to be the longest journey of all - I have found it hard and the only way to maintain (for me) is to stay focused - a bit OCD but it works for me.

Welcome to all the newbies.
I am not gonna say I have 3 stone to lose by a certain date. But cut it down and follow some of the advice from the girls.
So here goes, The first big target is to lose 14 lbs in 14 weeks.
Pst. I really only have 2 stone to lose, but last time I put a stone back on too fast, so we'll go for 3 :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

No problem - you're now back as part of the WL chart rather than the maintainers - and a rather fetching shade of pink :T:j0 -
Happy New Year everyone! After having the obligatory 2 weeks off for Xmas  I am now starting again on the weight loss! I'll be around for a while as I have about 2 1/2 - 3 stone to lose (depending on how much I've put on over xmas!!)
I'm with weight watchers and my weigh in is on a Weds evening so will do my best to get on here & post in time for Freds chart but I know I missed it a few times. Also 6 weeks of no alcohol is starting for me today to try and kickstart the weight loss (also the OH returns from his 6-month stint in America in 6 wks so I'm sure there'll be some champers drunk then!!)
Good luck everyone :j2019 will be my year!!0 -
Hi everyone,
Had a look at an obesity chart just now and found out I have 1 stone 2lbs to lose to drop down from the "obese" into the "overweight" category. I know for many people that would still be bad, but when I first started losing weight a 18 months ago I was clinically obese. If I can lose an average of 0.7lbs a week for the next 6 months I could drop 2 categories from clinically obese to overweight in 2 years!
For me it has definitely not been a short and quick weightloss, but if I add up the 2 blocks of hospital time and just broke up weightloss is the last thing on my mind time then that makes 10 months, so would in a way mean i have only been "trying" for 8 months so far, which makes the 30lb ive lost pretty good I think!
Going to have bananas on toast for breakfast/lunch soon, then figure out something to do with left over roast pork. Have a good one all x0 -
Morning all!
Welcome to the new joiners yesterday!
chonorla good luck with your targets but are you sure you would need to drop 5 stone to move down 2-3 dress sizes? I am the same height as you and I find 1 stone roughly = 1 dress size. I know we're all different, it just seems a lot! Congrats on your new baby too btw
bargainbasement I use calorie counting and I also like my carbs so it's perfectly do-able! Hope the food shopping goes well
PepPop - your OH's resolution broken after just one day?! Oooops :rotfl:
Fredsnail, you're doing a fab job with the chart for everyone! :j Congrats on your loss! Good luck to everyone who's being "pinked"!
FFM I like what you said about 'the longest journey of all'. You know that in general you maintain brilliantly - there are always going to be those few times when we gain a bit and have to lose it again
I have TOTM due so I'm waiting until next official monthly weigh in (mid Jan), then I'll see how much I need to lose. That's a year of doing monthly weigh ins instead of weekly ones now, and it definitely suits me much better(better still since the 'tweak' I made thanks to Granny's suggestion!
)
I'm really looking forward to another year maintaining! :j0
