    morning all!
i can't wait to get stuck in and shift some of this weight, but i'm also scared it won't come off, or i'll get really miserable trying!!
i did 15 min on the cross trainer yesterday...it's a start at least!
    good luck to everyone! x
  • FS, thank you :)

chonorla, I lost 3 stone and dropped 3 dress sizes

Missy, thanks for the vote of confidence, I know I have maintained well over the last 2 years, but over the last month I have recognised my 'mindset' slipping back into the one which made me put the 3 stone on in the first place - the '1 mince pie won't hurt' type thinking. Writing it down and posting here will bring me back into line.

I think I missed granny's 'tweak' - what was that?

dmv, I love cold meat, mash and pickles. If you don't add butter to the mash it stays fairly low cal (depending on portion size) and pickles have hardly any calories. My fav are the large gherkins from Lidl - they are sooooo yummy.

mazza, good luck, 14lb in 14 weeks is nicely achievable.

MicheH, sounds like you've got a good plan there.

    FFM :)

I was doing my monthly weigh ins on the same calendar date each month, but I changed this instead to "day 7 of my cycle" :) It means every weigh in is equal without those nasty fluctuations :D So I get a much truer picture of how my maintaining is going :D Genius innit! :T

I'm with weight watchers and my weigh in is on a Weds evening so will do my best to get on here & post in time for Freds chart but I know I missed it a few times.

No problem Kayleighpea - the chart always gets finished after 11pm so you should catch it - but if you don't I can always add it to the following weeks chart.

FFM - I was thinking cold meat and mash but now I have someone else eating with me so Im doing pork, wedges, stuffing and corn on the cobs. They will have a hog roast sandwich with wedges on the side, I will have a few wedges and eat the rest alone. Hardly great but not exactly piggish either, and I do love stuffing and corn on the cobs. Plus I have only eaten banana on toast today, maybe have a yoghourt later but no snacks to try and keep cals down.

Right on with the day. Been working since 11, now some errands and dog walking then more work...oh joy!

I make my own low fat version of this.

I make a basic white sauce by using a low fat spread melted, with a tablespoon of flour, and then using water and 1% milk (or skimmed) to make a basic roux. I then add a small amount of very strong cheddar, plus a sprinkle of parmesan, salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The stronger the flavour of cheese you use, the less you need, so it gives you the taste without all the fat/calories. I also use a little less milk, and more water each time I make it so that the family adapt to the slight variation.

I'm sure if you weigh out your cheese/milk portions added, you could work it out into syns or WW points, per portion size. I find adding a recipe to foodfocus.com helps me to work out a portion size by breaking the whole down into 100g amounts.

I have stopped using Dolmio tomato sauces too, replacing them with a basic passata, and then adding lots of veggies like celery, courgette, tomato, onion, mushrooms, etc. It packs out the 'red' filling with your lasagne, saves money in the long run, and means I don't get any of the hidden sugars in the meal.

    HTH :)

  • brilliant tips from granny and sary on white sauce & 'tomato based sauce. I will definitely be trying those. I used to make a sw syned one but I have slipped into slack hbits and have forgotten the original. You are right tho sary re used strong flavour cheese and then you need less. I never buy anyhting otger that extra mature cheddar myself.

A good productive day today after a sound nights sllep. Tonights dinner will be HM spicy potato wedges, baked beans and I have some corned beef that needs using up.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
