  • Beanie, you could try warming up the old battery in your hands for a minute or so, sometimes they spring to life just for a quick use.

  • Chonorla, I was a size 14 when I weighed 11 stone, size 12 @ 10 stone, size 10 @ 9 stone, size 8 @ 8 stone. So, no different to you at the size 12 stage. I haven't got big bones (or bust) though.

    HTH FFM :)

CHONORLA AND FFM - Im 5 foot 2 and very busty and am a 16 bottom and 14 top - I have lost 2 stone 2lbs and only dropped one dress size! Have lost 2 back sizes in bras tho - odd! We really are all different, but I have always believed the slimmer you get the less weight it takes to lose a dress size?

FRED - can I please be zeroed and pinked.

Am going to the south for a week tomorrow...have nephews birthday and an extremely important interview, plus didnt get to see everyone over christmas so will catch up with some friends. VERY NERVOUS! Catch up with you all in a week x

Eek final fat days on scales this morning. Totally shocked that I'm over 13stone again, so that's first target to get under. So disappointed with myself that even with you guys supporting me that I've managed to put on 1stone 4 since I done my knee in.

I remember the thrills when I made it to just under 12 stone and must get there again. Suppose it's still better than the 16 stones I started with!

It is better, you have done fabulously well you know you have, I am with you can't believe I have put on so much over xmas, I was not going toget out of bed this morning incase food got me, last night I ate so much expecting today and it is daft, I need to get back to it so my veg is cooking nicely ready for when I get back in from work, I was going to rebel and not do it, not go back to it but then again it would just go up and up the scales and that is not what I want to happen to me or to you or to any of us, we need to find the determination from somewhere, out will all the rubbish and in with all the freshly cooked healthy living stuff and it will soon shift.

Reasons to keep at it for me at least, 1, do not want to get back to the size I was and the black clothes I wore and the heavy breathing just to get up the stairs and not being able to interact with the kids, just on the sidelines watching, 2, my clothes, I look good in them they are a decent size can't afford to buy more and don't want to give in and buy more, 3, health, it suits me to be a lower size with the diabetes and it is easier to walk about with the arthritis if the weight is lower as it does not impact so much on my knees and I know that and should do the best for me to make sure that the pain I am in generally through it does not amass because I am being careless with what I eat and gaining weight to set it off even more.:D

Do you know what mazza thank you because when I got up this morning I thought to myself a black cloud is going to decend on me, I am either going to be like a petulant child and eat it all because I know I shouldn't and don't want to be told I can't or this time I will fail because I am in a dark mood and then I read what you said and thought no, I am going to do this for me, for the good of me, I am not being punished I am just being sensible in the long term the weight loss is much better for me all round than it is to give in and eat and be larger, so thank you for changing my mind and making me see that I can do it and am going to do it, so far today I have eaten my shreddies and fruit as I usually do and so hopefully it will back to normal, the kids know no snacks, crisps, sweets etc in the house as we had masses for xmas....

Does anyone know the programme I am talking about?...it was on the tele a while ago, can't remember the presenter but she just ate and ate under the supervision of her docs etc and piled the weight on, it was some kind of experiment and then after the show she lost it all,was trying to tell OH about it but couldn't remember much anyway she is like me now, ate for england over xmas, stop and it will go away or go down, I am hoping quickly:D

Chonorla, have to say I'm still surprised at there being 5 stone between a 12 and a 16 for you, but if you've been there before we can't argue with that! :D My weight loss & dress size stats are the same as the ones FFM quoted :p I was slightly top-heavy when I was bigger but this running lark has trimmed the bust down nicely :T

Beanie, hope you get the battery thing sorted if not for this week then next week. Is rechargeable an option so it doesn't happen again?

Mazza, like you say it's a lot better than where you were when you started! Focus on the positive not the negative! Good luck! I finished the springboard diving course by the way and you were right, I absolutely loved it!!! Hoping to sign up for a new course straight away so I can take it to the next level. :j

Back to a weight loss plan for me as from today :D Not sure how much I need to lose yet, but it's probably around 3-4lb so I'm starting with a 12.5% calorie deficit which is the maximum I'll restrict my calories these days. Don't mind how long it takes (within reason), 2 or 3 months is fine :)

I've also increased my running & cycling targets (see sig), as I was well ahead at the halfway point!

lo all, hope the new year and rerurn to real lfe is going well for you all. I've done well so far today with a normal breakfast with fruit juice and a bowl of rice for lunch, followed by 1 mini rocky road - birthdays at work are a pain. And it is also my birthday this weekend which usually scuppers new year plans to lose weight. This year I have decided to be sensible, allow myself a splurge on the day, be reaosnably sensible sunday ( parental visit) and then nose to the gridnstone from next monday. I am planning on exercising tonight so a good start i suppose!

Oh I really wish I could eat breakfast. Although I was good today and avoided the vending machines at work. Then came home at lunchtime and had 2 slices of toast with half fat spready cheese, not very tasty without the lurpak but it will see me thru til dinner (I hope)

Gonna nip to Tesco after my nap and get my apples and yogurts ready for snack attack times.

Victory, keep strong hon, it's hard, and we all wanna give up. Think of how far you've come too. I'm pretty sure you don't wanna go back there.
