hello kayleigh. My motivation is beyonce. Shes got a similar body shape to me but obviously im more inflated with fat then she is! I make myself think my body is like hers and it works for 5 mins
haha.
But seriously i take my hat off to the peope in here because they all have good motivation. I think moderation is key, don't deprive yourself because were all here for a couple of years to have a good time and we never know when the end is. I think a life sytle change is a more sustainable way of losing weight, rather than just going on a diet, unless that diet is going to be life from there on in.
But anyway, im the last person to be talking like this on here because ive only ever lost 1lb ha, but in the process of being here ive learned to love myself as i am, so i suppose my 1lb loss is irrelevent in the happy with who i am stakes!0 -
hmmmm, pulses for people who don't like them . . . . Black beans are good - taste really earthy and meaty. You can buy them dried or epicure do tinned ones but they're expensive at 99p a tin. alas, it's not sw, so i can't do it anymore, but used to love doing nigella's ham in coca cola, then using the stock to make the most luscious black bean soup. I try to tell myself that the sugar cooks out but really i know i'm deluding myself. what else . . . another nigella recipe is a ragu made with lamb mince and green or brown lentils, thats good. Or how about a lamb shoulder and potato stew with peral barley and red lentils? Thats a good winter warmer. Oh and there's a recipe i put on the recipe thread ages ago. . . hang on . . . .post 143, pasta fasool. I really can't recommend this one enough, it's not tomatoey so mazza might like it. We have it a lot because it's great for chucking in all the odds and sods of veg you might have in the fridge and don't really wnat to eat. In fact, I'm going to start using hte recipe thread again, trawling through to find that one again reminded how many great recipes are on there - you might some inspiration!

Hi Kayleigh and Shelanne :hello: - the advice that has stuck with me is "don't eat anything that you don't like and plan everything".0 -
Welcome to kayleigh and shelanne! :hello:
Mazza - I understand your head-scratching over to carb or not to carb!! Some people think all carbs are bad which was a myth started by Atkins but the facts are that only processed carbs are bad i.e. cakes, biscuits, microwaved meals etc. Wholegrains, fruit and veg are all good carbs, and if you stick to food that is the way nature intended i.e. fruit not fruit juice, brown rice or bread no white, baked potatoes not chips) then you'll be getting good carbs inside you = lots of energy and useful calories not empty ones!!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

That sounds like good advice! Wish I could get more of a handle on this planning thing, for food, money, housework, life!!!0 -
lists, lists and more lists and make lists for lists:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:it is all in the preparation organization for example I know what I am eating this evening, tomorrow, it helps a lot with the finances, never go hungry to the supermarket, try not to deviate, plan a weeks menu ahead of time so that nothing gets wasted, my kids hate me because I am always moaning about left overs what I will do with them, the bin is not for food in this house:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:portion sizes as well plan them so that there are no left overs if not very little and if ther are make a meal of them the next night0

Now THIS is what it's really all about :T:T Great stuff Vix, so happy for you!
And as for pulses *puke* and 'palatable'...what's not to like?!I am literally living on dahl out here and love it, love it, love it!

Thanks Bails
I feel like that feeling you get when you admit you have an alcohol problem. Or i presume this is what it feels like
I cant ever plan meals! Im not the planning sort. What if you plan for 7 meals in a week and then decided you wanted to go out somewhere for a meal? I dont know what i fancy tonight even, let alone in 5 days time.0 -
I'm a little late/slow (delete as appropriate!) but mazza you look like a totally different person! Those are an inspiration.
I'll see if I can dig out some before and now pics aswell. I'm nowhere near finished though!
I can't live without carbs. I train a lot so I practically live on them :rotfl: Mainly wheat or brown carbs though so not too bad. I generally suffer if I don't eat carbs. As someone said before everyones different though. What works for Missy wouldn't work for me and I'm sure my diet wouldn't work for her either. It's about finding that balance and what works for you!
