Kayleigh Welcome aboard. No doubt one of the pros will have some great advice for you. Am awaiting Missy's comments on yesterdays food with anticipation.:rotfl:
As for the motivation part, the photos done it for me. I try to look at my fat picture everytime I get the urge to scoff. Well come on, none of us want to look like that :rotfl: I also try to avoid buying in things like chocolate. The crisps are always there for my son's packed lunch and those are a bigger temptation to me than the chocolate. With halloween just past, I have an excess of jelly sweets in the house, so have been sucking on one of those when I fancy something sweet.
Anyhoo, I'm rambling on. Post your weight loss/gain in big bright letters and the chart will go online on a Wednesday showing the biggest losers. Hang around and join in the chat, plenty of good advice here. And a lot of nonsense chat
Good Luck with your weight loss journey.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I don't think that's a lot of bread Mazza. The thing is, we're all different and have different needs, likes and wants, and the plans we follow have different foods to limit etc. It's up to each of us to find what works for us personally.
If you do want an alternative to bread, potatoes are an obvious one. Crackers, couscous, any kind of thing like this (bulgar wheat etc). I'm sure there are loads more things.
Welcome aboard Kayleigh! Motivation is the 64 million dollar question I'm afraid... my personal goal is to see food as fuel, as something to be grateful for and to enjoy. I've worked hard to take the 'power' away from food and now, most of the time, I'm the one in control. I allow myself to have anything at all and by giving myself that freedom it enables me to see if I really do want it. If I do I eat it, if not I leave it knowing I can have it whenever I want. Everyone on here has many different ways of coping, this is just the one that works for me. Good luck! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

hiya Kayleigh!
ewwwww. Granny. don't want to think about that! I'm forcing myself to eat more fruit at the mo, and not doing too bad - got some english cox's apples from tesco that are absolutely gorgeous so less of a hardship.
Mazza, if you're looking for some alternative carbs there's a new ainsley range out in asda - it';s called amazing grains and there's chilli and lime quinoa, veg spelt, mushroom bulghar wheat and lentil dahl. You'd have to look at the packaging to see if they ae right for you but they are very tasty. MY favourite is the veg spelt. When we developed it it started life as cheese and leek spelt which was amazing but the saturated fats would have killed you.0 -
they sound GOOOD KPC, send us some over would ya! That said, I've just had delicious ti-mo (difficult to explain - a steamed dumpling bread thing, with cauliflower and potato curry today) YUM!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Morning:Dkayleigh welcome:D
Motivation eh? Good question:D I keep going because I know it is healthier for me to be this weight and it makes me feel better over all and it took a great deal of hard work to get here so I fight to keep it that way:rotfl::D
Love to toast the devil white bread was 29p at the co-op yesterday so decided to come home and have some toast, OMG, my intestines seem to rebel against the white flour or something because I ended up doubled up screaming with stomach cramps:rolleyes: all good now but it has taught me to be careful what you wish for:rotfl:won't be reaching for the white bread in a hurry, stick with brown wholemeal never has done that to me, it is surprising what the stomach gets used to and mine seems to hate change:rolleyes: never had a reaction to white bread before though and certainly never like that:rolleyes:
I also have for lunch sushi but then you said you don't like rice, very healthy for you.0 -

Hi all, haven't had much chance to catch up here lately, will try to post a bit more later today if poss. Hope everyone's OK
Mazza I don't comment/critique other people's food, Bails said it perfectly, it's about finding a plan that suits you(and judging by the pics you're doing great!!!). I base mine on the eatwell guidelines and on what I've read/researched about sports nutrition, this way of eating suits me perfectly. I eat two slices of granary or wholemeal toast almost every day, and I don't hesitate to include more bread if I want it
Kayleigh welcome!
Suggs welcome back!0 -
I didn't comment/critique MAZZA's food it was just another persons point of view i.e mine that mazza could have either answered or not, carbs are peoples down falls and mine especially if there is a way of cutting them down out the weight appreciates it and it is easier to drop off, millions of diet books uphold that .0

Can I join this thread too? Weighed myself this morning and, well, something has to be done!!! But am feeling motivated.
I have 10 week old baby and just turned 40! If I don't do something now, I will look like her granny on the playground by the time she starts school!!
So I don't mess things up, do I post loss on a Wednesday or any day, just once a week?
Also I have just routed out some Xenical capsules which were prescribed to me about 2 years ago. These are the ones that are now available in the chemist as Alli (sp?). If anyone has any advice re the use or not of these, that would be appreciated.
I have about 4 stone to lose. Just off to trawl through earlier weight loss threads to glean some advice from you wise ladies n gents!;)0 -
Gee girls, i'm happy to get all the help/advice I can get. I will endeavour to eat more pulses etc *puke* and be more adventurous in the kitchen as soon as i've got the freezer empty. After how naughty I've been over the past few weeks, I'm hoping that just cutting out the rubbish will be enough to kick start things this week. Would not be very MSE of me to waste all that food in the freezer now would it
My biggest problem over the past few weeks has been exercise, or lack of it. Got the all clear from physio to walk 1hr a day at work 2 weeks ago, however have been waiting for the work doctors to call me back. Finally they called me back, was some foreign woman who called, she couldn't understand me, I couldn't understand her and we went round in circles. Explained to her about me going to be doing deliveries every day to build the strength up in my knee slowly. So she opted to put me out on a duty for 5 hrs a day :rotfl:Ahem, I don't work 5 hrs a day..... so don't think that would be building the muscles up slowly again :rotfl: So she suggested I do 5 hrs on a mon, wed, and friday? I couldn't get through to her that I don't work 5 hrs a day! End result, as she couldn't understand me, she's referred me to her manager. But as I said to my manager, I would rather take the advice of a physio who has examined my knee than a nurse (or call centre agent) who is clueless. So other than the exercises that physio gives me today (first visit to see what's allowed), I'll be stumped again until they phone back.
AAAAAAAAAAARGH I wanna get back to my 8 miles a day!!!! But by the time I get home from work, i'm tired with doing nothing (or very little)4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
