well done vix, thats a top achievement over a year!
Good luck to all the people with job interviews, really hope they employ you and realise how wonderful you will be.
I went out last night and had a great time, even after i did an 11-8 i managed to get out for half 9 and go clubbing. Still life in the old dog yet!!0 -
Happy interview for tomorrow Hezza and for Wednesday Bails!
Super loss Vixstar, and Missy's right, it's not self indulgent at all to think about how far you've come and be pleased and proud of what you've achieved. :j:j
Vixarooni - I don't think I had your energy even when I was your age... and now 9.30 looks like bed time, not going out time. OH and I were arriving home to the suburbs on the tube last Thursday about 11 as the clubbers were getting on to do their stuff in central London. I couldn't have ever worn those clothes either - sparkly, short, low and tight. OH almost walked into the wall through looking the wrong way. :rotfl::rotfl:
Beanie - not doing very well with our challenge this week. Friend came to lunch today and I made bread and bought real butter ........0 -
Hey all,
DMV I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and I hope you and the rest of your family are bearing up OK. Food has to be the last of your concerns right now, and I think you shouldn't worry about it one bit.
Bails & Hezza - the very best of luck to you both, but I think if you are just yourselves there's no way they can resist either of you!
Hello and welcome orangepoppy - a slow cooker is one of my kitchen gadgets to have, along with a Kenwood mixer, multi-chef and ice-cream machine. I've barely the room to store any of them mind you, but the Kenwood is my most longed for. I make do with putting a casserole of braising steak with mixed veg in the oven in a pyrex dish, and cooking it very slowly, on a low heat for several hours. The thought of yummy lamb shanks had me drooling :rotfl:
Vixarooni - I had a couple of interviews for NHS jobs last year and never heard back from them. I find it so rude that the application process doesn't include the courtesy of a response, even if negative, nowadays. I used to work in HR, and it was simply unheard of not to send out a reply, and sometimes they would be in their hundreds after a recruitment drive. Keep your chin up, and don't be too demoralised. Something will come up, that you'll really want, and they'll really want you... they just haven't heard about you yet, so keep trying.
Sorry I've been absent for a few days again. It's not been a fab week here (again!). We've had more upsets, as those who know me on facebook will already know. Briefly; 2 dogs got into our garden, and killed my 2 youngest boys' much loved rabbit and guinea pig. It was truly horrible, and I was upset enough knowing how much the poor mites had suffered, but then I had to brace myself to meet the boys from school, and break the awful news. It took me right back to the time I had to meet them from school to tell them their daddy had died. Sometimes being a grown up really sucks!
OH has been on the laptop most of the week, job hunting, chasing the opportunity to do some deals on ebay, etc. I can't reasonably sit on MSE when his needs are greater than mine, so I have to grab my opportunities to get online when I can. I pop onto facebook, post an update, then am off again it seems.
Food has been intermittent. I'm not really being 'good', or watching what I'm having as I know I should. Money is really tight, so it's a case of making do at the mo, and while ensuring the children get what they like, I'm eating up whatever is left. Not always the most nutritious, or balanced way to eat, but the bubble & squeak at the beginning of last week wasn't so bad, and I've discovered that the Sainsburys Basics vegetable soup at 17p a can is practically the same as Heinz vegetable. I'm still wandering over to my local Co-op just before closing to get my 10p loaves of bread, so we're eating organic or wholegrain for pennies
I'm not hopeful for any losses right now, but am determined not to lose focus, even if it's to control maintaining. I have gained somewhere in the region of 9lbs since the summer, and that's really not good, so it has to stop. That is what I am aiming to do anyway.
Have a good week everyone. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Hi everyone. I came back here in September briefly when my baby was 6 weeks old. I only manage a couple of weeks before my diet was affecting the breastfeeding (baby was waking up hungrier due to my lack of eating enough calories) and so I stopped being good and started eating too much again.Anyway, breastfeeding is now complete (baby now sleeps all night too yippee) and I am back on track with the weight losing. I have managed to lose what I gained in October and will now post weekly for the chart if that's ok.
Sorry Beanie- we were supposed to be diet buddies and I abandoned you but I plan to be here to stay now.....0 -
-1 lb for me, which is surprising, have been naughty all week. But also had a terrible tummy bug yesterday. At first I thought I had drank too much on saturday, but when I surveyed what I had actually drank, it wasn't as much as i normally do believe it or not. Maybe been so tired made me drunk faster or something. I dunno but i felt as rough as a badger's behind yesterday.
Been doing a few hours a week overtime at work, so haven't really had much time for being online or watching the fat intake. So this week, back on track. I feel like a stuck record, I say that every week :rotfl:
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I didn't go to weigh in on Thursday as I pigged out after our poor old dog was put to sleep and I really haven't got back on track since.
