Yes, I've just started using mine again after an initial enthusiasm about a year ago. At the moment I've got a joint of beef in it which I've just excavated from the freezer. It was a really good bargain almost a year ago and it's been in the freezer all this time. Probably get food poisoning. I'll let you know tomorrow .....

There's a slow cooker recipe collection....http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1332010#post1332010, you've probably found it already.
  • we use them all the time at uni. brilliant if your all coming in at different times and all the root veggies are quite cheap at this time of year. mix it up by using lots of different meats and stocks. my fav is using really low fat sausages in a tomatoy sauce with an extra kick of chilli. really good for those winter eves! xx
shift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......
  • awww. dmv.

i have a slow cooker and it's great - i did the same as granny though and used it to death a year ago and then left it alone. lamb shanks are fantastic cooked in it - but you do have to take out the liquid and chill it to remove the fat layer that builds up . .

speaking of fat layers building up - for the second night on the bounce i've come home and hoovered up everything in sight, hatin g myself all the while. Any tips to find my motivation?
  • Really sorry to here your ews dmv. Look after yourself. Food is bound to be all over the place. Just try and get something inside you.

orangeblossom: I have a slow cooker and love it too. I use it to cook for 4 (there are two of us) and them freeze 2 of the meals for quick HM 'ready meals' I do various curries and stuff and could / should use it a lot more than I do. Do lovely sausage caserole in in. Yum.

You ok beanie - just a break form the diet?
kpc - sory, can't help. Motivation seems to come from magic land. And my lilacking skills only ssem to work on granny. I am finding major stress is helping me eat less but has it's downside, lol. (I'm ok, just big stuff of life that needs to be dealt with and is being dealt with).

Off for a swine flu jab today

Sorry to hear about your nan DMV x

KPC, I hear you totally. How about giving up trying? Really, and just observe yourself from afar in a non-judgmental way. Sounds crazy I know, but it may just work. Hugs hun x

Nothing to report here, no idea what's going on but happy :D

Slow cookers? Sounds like too much hard work to me! I like my food cooked in about 5 mins! Although matt and i were really good and after a day at work we both chopped and peeled proper food instead of doing frozen stuff.

No news on the job so i suppose that is yet another decline. There are only so many times i can try and remain positive before i actually want to rip up my stupid degree and the waste of time that was. Although on the plus side the NHS sent me a letter about a free at home chlamydia test kit so that might be fun for 30 seconds or so :p

Always good to see the positives Vix :rotfl: With you around I doubt anyone is ever miserable, you're great! x Hang in there with the job stuff, there are LOTS of people going through the same thing right now so it's just an extra hard market to shine in. Something great will come up I hope.
