Thanks for the warm welcome beanielou.
Just looked at the Food Focus site. Think it might be useful to do for a while to get me back into eating more sensibly. Has anyone else tried it.

Yes, several people find it really useful for staying on track. Welcome Jess and good losing! Just post up your losses (or even gains) before Wednesday evening in bold bright large font and you'll be on the list.

  • Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help. I am an amateur runner (male, around 14st, 5.11tall) and tend to run 3-4times a week in prep for marathons. The problem I ve got is that I love food and even though I do many miles i dont tend to lose much weight and most of the excess is around my stomach, which i am trying to lose.
can anyone suggest a decent menu (not expensive and fancy) but good for runners and one that would give me enough energy yet allow to also lose a bit of weight?
    It would be much appreciated.
  • Hello all just poppin on quick before i go to bed. Well done all losers and STS!! Only lost -1lb this week...despite me working my butt off (literally!!) I think my body had a bit of a shock last week. Mind you last night I was VERY VERY VERY naughty....I took my mum and little brother to tescos.....n my little brother decided he fancied some doughnuts...but couldn't decide if he wanted the jam or custard ones....so mum picked up the jam and i picked up the choc AND custard :( I had one of the Jam, 4 of the Custard and 3 of the choc  and the other night me and my sister watched the ugly truth...my sister brought round some Chocolate oreos...and only had 2 :( i had the rest....i think it must be the season change.... I promise i'l do better this week :D night all xx

STS for me this week :o

Been eating too much of the home baking, I reckon. Overall weight loss since starting this challenge on 01/10/09 has been 9lb so I will do my best to lose another lb before 01/12/09 so it averages 5lb per week. Still, I haven't gained anything, so I guess I need to be happy at having maintained the reduced weight despite my bad eating habits. :D

  • Morning everyone,

-1lb for me on my first week. Not brill but any loss is better than nothing. Here's hoping it's the start of many more :).

Haven't got a slow cooker yet (bit skint at the mo) but have seen one in Argos for £15.99 so will have a look at that when I've got a bit of spare change (when!). It's my day off today and I have agreed to go around town this afternoon window shopping with my daughter (17yr old), which will give me a couple of hours much needed walking.

Well done to all losers this week.

half a pound on please Fred. Not as bad as I'd expected and I have still lost, I think, 5lb this month. My shiny new target is to stay the same until Christmas .... so the half a pound will have to come off again NOW.

Well done :T:T:T to all the STSers and the losers.
  • STS AGAIN.I am rally gutted i know wher i go wrong its the snacking at the weekends,i suppose i should be glad i am not gaining.

  • reporting in with a 0.6lb gain

That's in 2 weeks. Although I think I put on more last week and lost this week.
The last 2 weeks have been awful. First week I was sick so no training, last week I got a nasty bump on the head which led to a minor whiplash injury so no training until Monday night. So in all 0.6 on is pretty good :rotfl:
