Sary - sorry for your bad news - hope everything works out ok for you both. Hope you're feeling better soon too. Hugs from me
Fred - thanks for the chart
Well done Bindiboo :j and Shelanne :j0 -
isn't bb just the nicest person ever?
another one holding up hands to say i've lost the plot. I've knocked sw on the head as I was using it as an excuse to binge and couldn't get my head around it. Going to try and start being sensible - couldn't face weighing in this week. so will carryo n next week.
sary - bummer. Hope you have positive experiences with the jobcentre. my l'il bro has been out of work for a while - they offered him a silly course - one of those empowerment type ones. He said he;d rather get his reg 13( i think - it's an electrician thing) - and would you beleive it, they've booked him on. Shows that there is help there if you ask for it - they've never offered it and apparently wouldn't have offered it if he hadn't have asked.0 -
Has anyone else tried FutureSelf (www_futureself_co_uk)? It's a (currently) free online food diary/calorie counter that I've found really, really good. I'm down from 14st 11lb to 12st 2lb and still falling. Some of my friends also use it and all of the ones that used it for more than a day or two have done very well.
The site appears to be quite new and they're still getting stuff in their database by the looks of it as a lot of the branded stuff is from Tesco at the moment but new stuff gets added all the time. Early on I had to occasionally put new foods in but these days I hardly ever have to.
I'll let you know when I've reached my next target weight of 11st 11lbs...
Hi, I've had a quick look but I'm not too sure about this site. This extract from the T&C's has pulled me up short:

Thanks for the chart Fred - it's very inspiring to be back on there again, let's hope it helps to keep us both focussed on the end result.
Sary - sorry to hear about your OH's job, I hope something comes along very soon.
Catch you all again soon.

Shelanne, your weight loss is a very positive thing if you are overweight. However, you do need to be very careful not to lose too much weight too quickly - you are in it for the long termaright? I know from personal experience.
I used to be shocked at my weight and would make my mind up to do something radical about it. I'd exercise every day, and virtually starve myself. I'd lose weight initially, but because it wasn't sustainable, I'd end up putting it all back on again. I'm not saying this is going to happen to you. But if you do lose weight too quickly, your body burns up muscle as well as fat. And it's the amount of muscle you have that determines how quickly you burn energy. If you lose muscle, you burn energy more slowly.
So go steady... do some strength exercise as well as aerobic exercise.. and go for it!
Thanks xavoid, is only my first week proper, so I think we all usually do okay in our first week and babba is only 11 weeks old today so probably a bit of baby weight that my have come off by itself anyhow! I am a fair bit overweight so still a long way to go, losing again this week will be the clever bit!
Congratulations all the losers and sts's this week. Thanks for the chart fs!0 -
Hi all, Can i join in please?
After stopping and starting weight watchers a couple of times since 1st July, I started back again last week & have got my determined hat on! My weigh in is on a Weds and have lost 1.5 pounds for my first week so pretty pleased with that
Going to start gym properly this week so hopefully will be a bigger loss next Weds!2019 will be my year!!0 -

Really good it is hear it's all happening Lois, thanks. (She stopped posting as was too busy having a life having cleared all her debts and lost so much weight:T) For any newbies looking for inspiration, go to post one to see raph's before and after pics... and she has now maintained for quite a while too.
KPC - you make me blush:o.
Sorry to hear you've lost the plot kpc. I was going that way too and these last fews week had definitely got into - 'you're not well and so worth it' mentality towards any food what so ever. Trying really hard to knock that on the head and get back to sensible healthy eating.
I really really want to lose 4lbs by xmas which would take me back under the 'no way are you getting heavier than this' weight and prove to myself I can achieve at least that.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
