So sorry Sary. Have you been onto the entitledto website? Worth a quick visit just to see where you stand with benefits etc while you are working out what to do x

Has anyone else tried FutureSelf (www_futureself_co_uk)? It's a (currently) free online food diary/calorie counter that I've found really, really good. I'm down from 14st 11lb to 12st 2lb and still falling. Some of my friends also use it and all of the ones that used it for more than a day or two have done very well.

The site appears to be quite new and they're still getting stuff in their database by the looks of it as a lot of the branded stuff is from Tesco at the moment but new stuff gets added all the time. Early on I had to occasionally put new foods in but these days I hardly ever have to.

I'll let you know when I've reached my next target weight of 11st 11lbs...

Good afternoon losers, stayers and ever so sligh gainers :)

Sary, really sorry to hear about your OH's job loss, things on that front don't seem to be improving generally, I've just ead the latest on the Lloyds TSB carry on and can only come to the conclusion that there are many more jobs at risk than Government's letting on about. If it isn't takepovers or mergers, it's 'streamlining' and closures. Wishing you and anyone else in similar situation the very best of luck in securing future incomes and hoping portion control helps with budget control. :)

I'm just popping back to show off, basically. :rotfl:You know I bought the 2 pairs of jeans, one of each size then fitted into the smaller size on 1st November? Well, I'll now need to find A BELT! YEAH! :j I now have what I'm going to call "BAILS' SYNDROME"! :rotfl:

Shelanne, your weight loss is a very positive thing if you are overweight. However, you do need to be very careful not to lose too much weight too quickly - you are in it for the long term, right? I know from personal experience.

I used to be shocked at my weight and would make my mind up to do something radical about it. I'd exercise every day, and virtually starve myself. I'd lose weight initially, but because it wasn't sustainable, I'd end up putting it all back on again. I'm not saying this is going to happen to you. But if you do lose weight too quickly, your body burns up muscle as well as fat. And it's the amount of muscle you have that determines how quickly you burn energy. If you lose muscle, you burn energy more slowly.

So go steady... do some strength exercise as well as aerobic exercise.. and go for it!
  • sary - im so sorry to hear your bad news. keep your head up and im sure something will come along. if fight enough for anything in this world you will get it. you seem very level headed which i think is only a good thing in this situation, as it can be very easy to let thing get on top of you. just have to keep on moving! xx
