    Morning:D gs ouch

I am in so much pain, can't even make cottage pie today because can't peel the potatoes:rotfl: oh well they will have to make do with their latest fad meat free bean burgers they love them, however many I put on their plate they always ask for more, this time I got spicy bean ones so will see if they like those, should make my own but haven't so far:D

Off to work later, determined to take my file with me and get some work done off it:D

morning everyone , Victory do you think the cold weather makes your hands more painful ? My daughter is into the bean burgers at the moment and I would love to know how to make them :).

Fred , thanks for doing the chart for us , well I have never been slimmer of the week before so feel really chuffed :D. I put on my old coat today and the buttons did up :j. Had some natural rice puffs this morning and they were lovely , put a little bit of skimmed milk ontop. For lunch I am having
jacket potato with red kidney bean veg chilli :A. I cant decide for tonight yet , but I have some strawberrys for dessert.

They say the cold makes it worse but I have it rain or shine and my portugese doc says if she had one pound for everytime someone tells her they are moving abroad for the sun to better their arthritis she would be a rich woman:rotfl:

I have it all day every day it is just sometimes it flares up so bad you can't bear the pain, I am just a healthy happy person trapped in a crippled body:rotfl: I find it frustrating not being able to go about the usual things, it is bitterly cold here but the sun is out and keep looking at the garden wistfully, there is plenty to do in there but today would not be a good day for me as my hand is not working, I went to spray the plants with water and bio and can't even pull the trigger:D

RECIPE for HOMEMADE BLACK BEAN BURGERS Hands-on time: 20 minutes Time to table: 20 minutes Serves 4 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 cup chopped green onion, roughly chopped 1/3 cup finely chopped poblano pepper (I used 2 rings of Pickled Jalapeño Rings) 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (I used parsley) 15 ounces canned black beans, rinsed and drained 1/2 cup toasted whole-grain bread crumbs 1 large egg, lightly beaten 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin Kosher salt to taste 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking In a large skillet, heat the olive oil until shimmery. Stir in the green onion, peppers and garlic and cook until just beginning to turn brown. Transfer to a food processor. Add the cilantro and process until roughly chopped, several pulses. Add the beans and pulse five or six times, so beans are broken up but still in small chunks. (You don't want to overprocess, you're not aiming for a black bean paste.) Transfer to a large bowl, then stir in the remaining ingredients. Form into four patties. In the same large skillet, heat another tablespoon or so of olive oil until shimmery. Gently add the patties, cook each side until browned, about 5 minutes total. FREEZING TIPS If freezing, from into patties and let patties chill thoroughly, then transfer to freezer bags or vacuum pack in a FoodSaver. For better results, thaw before frying, just drop the freezer bag into a dish of cold water for 15 minutes. NUTRITION ESTIMATE Per Burger: 230Cal; 9g Tot Fat; 2g Sat Fat; 52mg Cholesterol; 449mg Sodium; 28g Carb; 7g Fiber; 2g Sugar; 10g Protein; Weight Watchers 4 points (technically 4.5 points)

Mirry, well done on SOTW. What a lovely kick-start to your diet.

Victory - ouch. I hope this episode passes swiftly for you. Fingers crossed work goes OK today for you too. My boys love the veggie burgers. I must admit I am a bit keen on the meatfree moroccon burgers from Sainsburys, which taste very much like falafel. I don't miss eating meat so long as I get taste. That said, I can then wade my way through a whole tray of chicken wings!

Granny - that sounds like a very uncomfortable procedure. I hope you're feeling more comfortable today.

Mazza - as a fellow neuralgia sufferer, and having had a reoccurence myself last month, I totally empathise with you. Having had 4 children, I can honestly say that the pain of neuralgia is worse than childbirth. I've not had to go back onto my meds, and coped with strong painkillers. I also find putting a hot water bottle on my face can help ease things. I smoked a very, very long time ago. When I stopped, I also tackled my weight and lost over 4 stone. It can be done. In fact I think it made me doubly determined.

dmv - let's hope either of the other 2 courses work out for you. Who's to say that you aren't going to sail through those tests, and won't be someone they'd be desperate to have on their course? Think big!

BB - I hope you've having a lovely week off. I'm following in your footsteps this week, and am decluttering the shed. I will then be ebaying whatever I can.

I've had a nice bowl of porridge to set me up for the day, so should have the energy I need to crack on with physical work today. I'm fighting a bit of a cold at the moment, so have felt less energised early this week.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Mirry - well done on being SOTW at your first attempt! So proud of you!! :j

Well RDH was a hoot!! We were in the back row but its such a small theatre it didn't matter, and he's such a HUGE bloke. The event was hosted by Shappi Khorsandi (sp?) and there were two other comedians who I didn't know but were very good. It was the kind of stand-up where you chortle along continuously with the occasional belly laugh, and I was glad I was wearing my waterproof mascara! Also, I cant remember a single joke but I know that it was funny! Bumped into (almost literally) RDH in the car park afterwards, boy is he tall! I was rummaging in my bag for my car keys so I looked up at him a bit startled but he just grinned and said "Hey, how ya doin'?" and I scurried away all giggly and shy!:D

Hezza , that sounds like a great night out . Hows the diet going today ?

my icecream maker has just turned up , want to try the Harombe diet icecream , I love gadgets :D.

Victory , it sounds like you got it bad if its all the time , my uncle and aunt have it and they are both twins , they took part in research about it a few years ago. I know what you mean about feeling trapped in a crippled body , for the past 7 years I kept passing out for no reason
( so I was told), then 3 months ago was diagnosed with Dysautonomia
which basically means my blood pressure system is mal functioning and drops dangerously low when I stand up. They dont know why I have it but I am about to start having lots of tests, first they are checking my heart and adrenal glands. Its a nuisance cos I feel faint so much of the day , it comes and goes in severity but like you, I find it stops me doing so much .
I cant drive anymore , walk far , or even stand up for long. They want me to go on steriods soon but I wont until I loose weight, this is why I am so determined to loose weight.

Congratulations Mirry and thanks for the chart Fred

    Thanks BB I'll PM her

Victory I think I would need the "No thank you" tattooed on my forehead cos there is no way my mouth would say those words to chips :p

Hezza Please don't tell me Nutella is poison i love it on crepes - I'll cry!!

Mazza I'm with victory on that one - if you take Bicarb when you feel the symptoms coming on it cures it straight away

Thanks as always to Fred for the chart :)

Granny, How are you feeling now hon? Sounds awful!

Sary, Trying best to stay off of the antiepilepsy drugs they gave me last time, but they have also recommended betablockers. Think I would rather at least attempt to stop smoking first and see if that helps. I'm a heavy smoker, so it certainly can't be doing me any good. Have smoking cessation clinic tonight, for the first time in a year. So no doubt my CO reading will be through the roof and i'll embarass myself in front of everyone who has already stopped for a week (starting course a week late) Take the pills for 9 days b4 i smoke my last cig.

    Great losses. Well Done!!!

Keep up the good work guys, you're doing really well :j

GRANNY - OUCH! Hope you are feeling a bit better now. Apart from operations the most painful "proceedure" I have had was having needles with tiny microphones attached to them put into my muscles/ligaments (eg behind kneecaps sorta thing, whatever that bit of you is called!) and having to move and listen to it to see how it sounded. Never good when they book you in for something and say "this really will hurt a lot" seeing as when they normally say "oh it will sting a bit" it kills lol. Oh well, such is life.

One of the courses emailed me yesterday to ask what examining body one of my exams was so at least they are responding quickly. Good job considering my first choice only has 7 places, and the second 9! Horrible interview proceedures with 10 minute presentations (i visibly shake throughout and for a good hour after!), essays, 3 exams and classroom observation...and thats just one course! Jesus christ...make you jump through hoops much?! I know its stay positive etc but for so few places and so many applicants im going for the try my best but not expect anything attitude so as not to get upset again.

Food is not good. Must try harder.
