Vixstar - matalan is good if you want an appropriate swimming costume for exercise. When i first started going to aqua aerobics (where i used to live) i wore a tankini...boobs nearly flew out and shorts kept trying to work their way down to my ankles! Got a black stomach control one (not through specific choice, just what was there) and found that it is very good at strapping everything down so you can get on with it. Have also had a nice brown halterneck beach one from there, so def worth a look if you have a larger store. Alternatively i have got tankinis from sainsburys the last couple of years which are nice so also worth a look there.

Thanks DMV I need to look into getting a better suit for under my wetsuit (that I am dreaming will make me look super thin this year). I had never thought of sainsburys. There is no local Matalan but I will have a look when I am passing one But will look at sainsburys next week :)

Vixstar - I got a couple of nice tankinis from M&S last year, and I've bought one piece costumes there too, because they do a bra cup size choice. I prefer tankinis from the point of view that they can have a separate bra inside, which is discreet, as well as the fact that they can be better suited to my shorter body, as I find that most have far too long a body for me. I've also bought cup sized swimwear from TKMaxx, which stocks well-known lingerie brands like Freya at a fraction of the cost. Bravissimo are also good, but they're costly.

Eric - I think that many of us long term fat fighters will all have our own 'skeletons' rattling around. I only admitted to myself (and on here) this past month or so, that I now recognise, thanks to Victory, that I would eat the second my OH had left the house! I've been doing that most of my life I reckon. Eating anything other than a set meal when alone must have accounted for about 60% of my reason for weight gain over the years. Always the reliable 'friend', but more of an enemy in truth.

Right, I feel hungry, but am determined to not eat, so am going to make myself another cup of tea. OH has gone out with a mate to collect some ebay winnings, so I'm here alone. I will not eat!

    Food today:
    B - 1 slice wholemeal bread & tsp clover/marmalade
    L - 3 slices bread & conserve, rhubarb fool
D - Chicken in tomato/onion sauce, with rice

Cupcake & Natu, I also love making cakes, and have recently been making different cupcake recipes. Most use plain flour, and seem to come out very dense. I tried a muffin mix by Delia, but even that used plain flour, and wasn't anything like the light muffins you can buy (I used raspberries instead of blueberries). Any suggestions? Should I just substitute self-raising, despite what the recipe says? I have done the Magnolia bakery vanilla cupcake recipe, and despite being also dense, it was a big hit with the children. What recipes are you using? BTW, I don't eat them either, I make them for the kids' lunches.

I read an interesting article today that was mentioned on Twitter http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1253002/Why-HobNobs-moreish-plays-havoc-diet.html which was about the reason why certain foods, like ice-cream & biscuits are moreish, and we can't just stop at a small amount. Not sure if it's just a way to alleviate us from our lack of will-power, or medically/physically fact as the study suggests.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Hi Fredsnail , can I be added to the list please :D.
I am on day 2 of my eating plan, so look forward to joining all the other loosers.

Welcome mirry, I've added you - I hide the people who don't post a result as the list has to show on my pc screen without scrolling to see everyone - but you are there. Well done on day 2 :j

    Hola

Grrr - I couldn't get on line last night, so I've missed the chart. Fred, could you add our results anyway (don't re-post the chart or anything, I just don't want to double up next week - ta.)

Curiously, both of us managed to lose exactly the amount we gained last week, how weird is that!? Anyway, that's a loss of 0.75 lbs for me and 1.25 lbs for Superman.

Thanks for doing the chart Fred, and well done to everyone this week.

    Lois and Superman :)

p.s. well done Eric - you deserve both awards. :T

Have amended your month end totals ready for next week. :j

We all have skeletons in our cupboard - some emotional, some habit, some low will power - but they all add up to cause us trouble.

I find that the more tired I am the more rubbish I eat (and the more chocolate I crave).

SARY I always use self raising flour in a very many years fairy cake recipe that the kids love and it is very simple to remember 6/6/6 and 3 as in 6 oz self raising flour, 6 of butter and 6 of sugar, 3 eggs whisk gas mark around 170 to 180 for 12 mins and the kids think it is xmas again:D I never eat them too much sugar for me, but they love them with substituting a bit of sugar for choc drops or a bit of butter for crushed banana, or a bit of crushed nuts, especially walnuts and almonds, you can experiment with all kinds of add ins, blueberries was a fav last year when we went to pick our own and raspberries, they always come out soft and fluffy but like yorkshires don't open the oven to see how they are doing because then they end up like flying saucers:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I quite like it MC, excpet for the price, I'm more inclined to a chainstore sale type swimsuit. Maybe grannydom gives you a different outlook on swimming costumes. I go for low legs and not too much boob falling out.:o

Yay for you Eric -- great loss. Stay strong!

Had a big bar of chocolate today,
    Was nice!

ooh beanie -this was total poetry.

Me too fred and beanie - eat more when tired and like you beanie, that is most of the time: stumling around today in thick fog of fatigue. Still last day at work and then a week's leave. Hurrah.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
