Sary, do you have enough warm clothes suitable for cycling? This is what used to hold me back in previous winters. I really feel the cold, way more than most exercisers judging by my clothing, but investing in some hardcore winter cycling gear has kept me going right through. Not saying it isn't still an effort to get out there most sessions at the moment, but it has made a difference once I'm cycling! I'm longing for warmer weather too, it's been absolutely bitter

i'm sorry i forgot to weigh in on wednesday, i will remember next week. i have put half a stone on last 6 weeks - down to new medication. what is infuriating is i have been going to the gym 3 times a week!!!
i got a dress over xmas which i was planning to wear next week for a wedding - tried it on last night it doesn't fit!!! so unless my weight changes in a week i have nothing to wear

I looked in there the other day with a view to taking DS there for his birthday but it is hellishly expensive - £23 per head for 1 hour ringo session and minimum 10 people in the party  think we'll be going to the pictures instead.....
Wow Hezza that is uncanny......... It is a lovely place from what I saw of it. We really enjoyed the strange roundabout thing.
£23 per head for 1hr sounds a little on the steep side  But we paid £27 each for 2hrs of skiing. I was suppose to be away skiing this week but due to my mum being in hospital we cancelled it, so we decided to treat ourselves to a day instead.
We had such a laugh and good time we want to go again within the next few months but it is a long drive from devon to hemel  so we will see what happends.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend :smileyheaRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Hi all,
Have been up early for the last few days because of building work, then doing more when they have left, and then trying to get some uni work done because its impossible to work while they are here. Was so glad for 10 hours sleep last night, feeling much better now. I will have to weigh in early on either Monday or Tuesday this week because im away wednesday-sunday (not eating very well no doubt...)! However, had a naughty sneak peak on the scales this morning and am very happy...will prob go all wrong with popcorn and dominos tomorrow but hopefully there will be a small loss still.
Have booked myself a hair cut for Monday, think I will get it layered or feathered, not sure yet but I want to keep growing it. Have put off spending money because on a daily basis for uni etc I have it tied back so it doesnt matter, but when i straighten it to go out etc i see pictures and think i want it to look better than that so im treating myself! Right now to get showered, dog walked and crack on with some of the work i havent done the last couple of days!
Good luck all, second half of the week before weigh in to keep us all focused!0 -
sweet my Bow Classic has come from the states

I can't wait for the warmer weather too, haven't done any cycling now for months. Have been horse riding most days though, and it is so cold  . It doesn't help that our menage/school is on the side of a hill and the wind whistles up there from the river. I'm sure the view will be fab in the summer :rotfl:
I wear a t-shirt, polo shirt, sweat shirt, chunky jumper and then my coat, scarf and gloves, can only wear jodphurs on my legs 'cos anything else is too restrictive. Thank goodness for 'rising trot' that helps me to warm up.

Missy, I think that's part of the problem. I don't exactly have the appropriate gear to wear, and having something that's wind and waterproof is ideal. I have a Helly Hansen jacket that I can wear in the wind, and I have layers of tshirt/sweatshirt/fleece, but when the cold really sets in... brrrrrrr!:(
Today, I have been jet washing the greenhouse we collected during the week, and we have assembled 90% of the frame. We need to buy some extra bolts, as to dismantle it we had to saw through some of the rusted/seized ones. Once we've got those, we can start to put the glass in. I am getting very excited! I got soaking wet using the jetwash for about 3 hours, and when I came in to get changed I had to use the hairdryer to get the feeling back into my feet! My skate shoes are soaked too, and drying out on the radiator - should have put my wellies on.
I've been out and got my BF his valentines treats today. He is going to think I'm an even more perfect GF now (he said I was beyond perfect last week when I spent an afternoon shining up all the chrome on one of his m/bikes he has recently bought to sell on), as I have found him bars of Bourneville 'Old Jamaica' chocolate. I've been looking for this for him for 7 years! I also got him a couple of new reading books, as he's run out. My eldest, who turns 18 next month, went shopping with me, and is celebrating his '6 month' anniversary as well as valentines day with his GF tomorrow, and has got her a dozen red roses, as well as a silk one to hide in amongst them (he's going to write on the card 'I'll love you until all these roses die', which will worry her to begin with), as well as a box of Thorntons in a heart shaped box. He's been upstairs with card and pens creating a homemade card for her tonight. Bless them, and their young love.
Food hasn't been bad today:
B - porridge
L - bacon roll
snack - low fat hot x bun
D - roast chicken & veggies + yorkshireOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0
