Thanks for all the anti virus advice guys...think i will go with the £2 mcaffee from uni IT services.

Well done on all the weigh in guys - looking good so far! Food has been better than expected today. Got in a right mood earlier so didnt eat anything till the afternoon when I picked at some cereal. Didnt like the marinade on my chicken breast so scraped it off and had a mix of roasted new potatoes, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, red pepper and onion which was very yummy. Snacks include a pear, a small chocolate and will maybe have some grapes later.

Question to anyone who feels like answering...I know we are all guilty of emotional eating at times but do any of you not eat when you get annoyed? I sometimes comfort eat a few hours later if there is rubbish available but if i have a row with someone or are stressed i just cant eat even my fave foods, been known to eat less than 1000 calories in very bad weeks before, and if i force myself to eat i throw up. Anyone else like that or am i just weird?!

Totally dmv. When I lost the first stone I was going through a relationship breakup. I was cooking for him n my son, sitting down to eat, forcing a couple of mouthfuls then sitting at the table watching them eat. As soon as it hit the stomach, I would throw up too, you are not alone. Still feel like that when i'm stressed or annoyed with someone too. Sometimes comfort food is needed, just to get you out of that state of mind.

Thanks Fred for the undeserved SOTW.

Thinking of you today Sary and sending positive vibes.
  • oh sary, we've all got our fingers crossed for you! clearly i am the only person on here who cleans the bog before visitors - it's a family thing actually, i vividly rmemeber my mumcleaning it at 0800 one christmas day before her mum came to visit!

hmmm, comfort eating v stress not eating. alas, there are no occasions on which i cannot eat. i am greedy. Good luck with your challenge granny and beanie.

did anyone watch spooks last night? Got all wibbly when i thought Harry was dead. Thnak goodness the video was a fake and he got to be all ice cold and ruthless. And yay for Ruth being back, I hope she stops being angry with him. OH was laughing at me because I said it must be awful to live with Harry because he'd never do the washing up, no matter how many times you asked him or how many tantrums you'd throw.

I have been taken off the chart?

Emotional comfort eating...if I get annoyed/row I clean furiously, get out all the cupboards, scrub like a mad woman, don't tend to eat as it is nervousness/stress/annoyance and it is more with happy contented good news than the ahhhhhhhh of life:D

sary how I empathize with you all, last 10 days of the month here were horrendous, this April when he came home ashen faced that he was to loose his job were throw up time with fear, every day seems to be a financial challenge for food, the freezer and store cupboards were a godsend, we just have to believe that things will get better and they will for all of us, they will, all the best:D

Fredsnail - Thanks for the chart, some great losses this week

Sary - Fingers crossed all goes well on job front

I comfort eat no matter what - angry, sad, stressed etc. Wish I could be better at controlling it!
  • I comfort eat aswell sometimes. My way of controlling it is to stick my iPod on and dance around my bedroom like a maniac! Seems to work for me. Well that or do some exercise, whether I go for a run, get on the ex bike or do some weights!

    Hi all :)

Woohoo - new thread! Blimey, I can't keep up with you peeps, you're on page 6 already.

I'd like to go back on the chart too please. My son is getting married next June, and I've decided I'm going to be a svelte mother of the groom, so I've got work to do. I've started keep fit twice a week - the woman who takes the class is 64 and she puts me to shame :o. OH and I are weighing in on Sundays, so I'll make sure we visit the internet cafe early in the week to report in. Actually, why not put him on the chart too? He doesn't have a MSE nickname, so let's give him one - how about Superman! :D

    See you next week!
