Go on then. Am I allowed to lose it and put it all back on again - would that count? That seems to be what I mostly do. :o

Hi everyone, and hello to our new peeps

I can't believe I've been away so long that I hadn't even noticed the new thread starting! Blimey.

Well done to all the losers and STS's. I forgot to weigh in this morning, but have been fairly naughty, having more than my fair share of c/c/c's too. Things have been a bit stressful here this past week or so, as we're not sure if OH will still have a job by the end of the week. With 4 children to feed, and living in an area where jobs are rarely easy to come by, let alone in a recession, you can imagine how it is.

OH is very worried, and I'm trying to keep up an appearance of quiet confidence, whilst being slightly cautious. Underneath I'm really worried too, and desperately hoping that things work out OK. It's been touch and go most of this year, but no one likes the prospect of being out of work. He has a meeting tomorrow with one of the managers to find out more... fingers crossed.

So, it would be suffice to say that there's been a fair bit of mutual comfort eating going on here. OH took me out for a 'last supper' at the KFC today, as he said he really fancied one, and if he is going to be out of work our days of going out in the forseeable future are over. Yesterday we had homemade cake, and end of last week I bought chips from the chippie when I was tight for time, to go with homemade burgers.

Like Mazza I'm also attempting to eat what we have out of the freezer and cupboards, as a way of cutting down on our grocery bill. I seem to spend more and more each week, so am trying to have at least 1 week a month I don't do a main grocery shop, and rely on small top-ups of bread/milk/veg/fruit. So far so good this week, and we had a stroke of luck last night mooching over to the supermarket after taking the kids to the local fair, we found lots of discounted bread, milk and veg, and had about 6 bags of shopping for less than a tenner.

fredsnail I'm going to declare a STS until I get myself back on an even keel. I am already making up for recent gains, but I know I can make amends. I am still more than a stone lighter than I was this time last year, but I am beginning to feel the lbs that have gone back on, which is my motivation I suppose.:o

Thanks for all the anti virus advice guys...think i will go with the £2 mcaffee from uni IT services.

Well done on all the weigh in guys - looking good so far! Food has been better than expected today. Got in a right mood earlier so didnt eat anything till the afternoon when I picked at some cereal. Didnt like the marinade on my chicken breast so scraped it off and had a mix of roasted new potatoes, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, red pepper and onion which was very yummy. Snacks include a pear, a small chocolate and will maybe have some grapes later.

Question to anyone who feels like answering...I know we are all guilty of emotional eating at times but do any of you not eat when you get annoyed? I sometimes comfort eat a few hours later if there is rubbish available but if i have a row with someone or are stressed i just cant eat even my fave foods, been known to eat less than 1000 calories in very bad weeks before, and if i force myself to eat i throw up. Anyone else like that or am i just weird?!
